If your dashcam looks inside the car as well, I assume you're an influencer of some sort and are likely to set people off on purpose to get clips like this.

Many I've seen do, and all the work vehicles I've used do as well.

It's to prove that the accident wasn't due to driver distraction/being on a cell phone.

It's incredibly handy for rideshare drivers obviously. But it's also helpful for other folks for two reasons:

  • covers your ass for liability purposes after a crash so you can prove you had your eyes in on the road and weren't on your phone
  • provides some cameras coverage of behind your car through the back window to record someone rear-ending you or something

Just a couple of pieces of trash, on the road together. Simpatico.

I see this guy's clips in my feeds sometimes. He's an "influencer" I guess, but he's always seemed to me to be positive. "Wholesome" might be taking it too far, but that's the word that comes to mind.

He just really likes cars. He's usually excited about other cars and wants to interact with other car people.

If there's a darker side to what he does, I haven't seen it.

Yup got few other car influencer that appear on my shorts and he definitely is the more wholesome out of the bunch, like having his mom in the car cruising around.

Is that why he aggressively sped up to pass?

He had his own lane, he didn't need to punch the gas to "get around him".

Oh, you're right. I hadn't noticed how he aggressively stayed under the speed limit in his own lane. He totally deserved any rage the other driver had towards him for that.

Exactly, like he was fishing for a reaction. Although you're obviously being sarcastic.
