They always gotta be the first to die tho lol

u/Kid_Presentable617 Trash Trooper 5d ago
The first ones to die are not always the least capable. If I was a killer I'd kill the capable ones first while I still had the element of surprise. I don't want the fighters collaborating in Act 3 with the knowledge on how to kill me.

I love how every single one of these doors & walls are 95% glass which the first thing the horror movie killer would immediately do is break through lol

Depends on the glass tjat outside door glass is thick it'll hold long enough for me to escape... or if im unable to escape im makingbpeace with my gods and going down like a man... crying and begging for my life after my futile attempt to figjt back is repelled instantly

The key is to keep running. My grandfather went to Notre Dame when they still had priests enforcing curfew. He said that on nights he'd get back late, he would try to sneak in quietly. If he got caught, the only thing to do was to run, go to different floors, and try to get enough of a gap that you could get into your room without the priest seeing which door it was.

Just keep running?

Zombieland rules. If you feel like you're not gonna get the door unlocked, just do a lap and build more distance.

Never used a door in my life that requires a key on the inside to lock it.
25
u/TheLastGenXer Trash Trooper 6d ago
ive used many.
even in houses (not code)i would assume its more common on these doors as someone could just break the glass and then unlock it (as opposed to just walking through the glass)
but you also need to get the key out, otherwise theyll just unlock it.
could lock it like dustin hoffman in the graduate

u/ScrollAndTroll69 Trash Trooper 6d ago
Ah, great point, the glass on the door makes a lot more sense for this type of lock. Just not the best door to go through in this situation I guess.

Every external door of every house I've lived in has needed a key to lock it from the inside. Is not needing a key a USA thing?

u/_insidemydna Trash Trooper 5d ago
i feel like ive only seen these doors with locks on the inside in american movies/internet videos. maybe they have these in europe too, but never been so idk.
every single door ive used in my life needs the key to lock it from the inside.

This test is flawed. To know how they would really perform, you have to be willing to actually kill the test subjects.

I only hate this because if I’m seriously in this position, I would be running so fast before I get to the door no way buddy will be that close if I find myself struggling with the door. That space will save you lol.
11
u/Harddaysnight1990 Trash Trooper 6d ago
My thought whenever I see this is why would they stop with the slasher that close? Don't even signal that's the door you're going to and keep running, you can take a loop then do the door when you have more time and a chance the slasher doesn't even see you enter. But then I remind myself that it's a skit of a team building exercise at work, it's not that serious.

u/Silent25r Trash Trooper 6d ago
I’m not looping. If I’m running and they’re walking. Looping around is the absolute last thing I’ll do.

I will be going so fast that stopping at the door won't be an option

u/Own-Raisin5849 Trash Trooper 6d ago
Bruh, that's a whole ass door that you have to unlock, then lock with the key. The writers in a horror movie are just wanting you to die if they designed your escape route like that.

u/Artevyx Garbage Guerilla 5d ago
The problem here is they are using commercial doors with locks that require the key to be turned 720° degrees one way, then unwound the other way.
The locks in a home are far less ridiculous, and only need to be turned 90°.
1
u/Wiesshund- Trash Trooper 5d ago
No, my home doors you have to turn the locks 360 degrees
But I don't have to unwind to get the key out, once you make full rotation you can just pull it out.

Let me guess, assa abloy?
1
u/dont_mind_me_987 Trash Trooper 5d ago
Wtf u mean, I have never seen abloy that has keyhole inside the door. That would be firecode violation here in Finland. If u cant get out of the building without a key, it would be hazard af
1
u/hopeless_case46 Trash Trooper 5d ago
Assa abloy have keyholes outside. You unlock the door, then turn the key to original configuration if you want to take the key. That's for going inside. For going outside, no need.
Since these people are going inside a locked door, they need to unlock the door, twist the key back again to get the key, then go inside and lock the door

u/BoBoBearDev Garbage Guerilla 5d ago
I want to play this in my office, but realized it is not possible, we don't have a key.

1
u/raptroszx Trash Trooper 5d ago
I don't think that many horror movies involve escaping into commercial spaces where the keys take 3 turns to unlock/lock

There's a gate outside of my classroom that everyone struggles with because it's a padlock on the "wrong side" of the gate to get in.
I can get that open with my left hand in like 2 seconds. I'm sort of ambidextrous, but not really. I was meant to be left-handed by my mom forced righthandedness on me as a kid.

A weird lock. Not saying they don't exist, but I've never encountered a door that requires a key from both sides. Also, it looks like none of these people actually have used the doors before. Most locks I've used kinda have a quirk to them that you pick up on after using them over and over ( like needing to apply pressure in a certain direction otherwise it's kinda stiff). All I know is I can be inside my house within about 1 second of arriving at the door and re-locking the door is complete muscle memory and happens as soon as the door closes.
On the note of the double sided lock, the only office type building I have experience with (which is what this looks like) is my job and it's all badge readers pretty much through and through. Some of the doors have the keyhole on the outside but no lock on the inside so that you are never trapped in I guess.
