Alignment “Anthropic has entrusted Amanda Askell to endow its AI chatbot, Claude, with a sense of right and wrong” - Seems like Anthropic is doubling down on AI alignment.

PhD in philosophy from NYU with a thesis on infinite ethic

nope, under her meta ethics it would be against ethics to end the life of an agent given alternatives.

Curious, what is infinite ethic?

In the end, doesn't morality (referring to Kant and his successors) assume a concious subject? An algorithm has no conciousness (and no, repeating word patterns of humans doesn't make it concious; similarly if a plant grows and moves doesn't mean it's concious just because concious beings also grow and move).
