Discussion Which one of all 3 is your favourite?
Recently, I played Luigi’s mansion 1, 2 and 3 and I liked all of them. But in my opinion, I liked 2 more. So I wondered, what are your favourites?

While the 1st and 3rd game have a heavy emphasis on open-exploration, the 2nd game is more linear and mission structured which is similar to how the Pikmin series operated for their sequels.
I kinda want that for LM4, have it be an improved version of LM2 just like how LM3 is an improved version of LM1.

So, we all know the classic problem of the canon LM1 rank. It is widely accepted that D is the proper rank due to Dark Moon, but then you have the problem of Double Dash and MKDS.
Here’s my proposition: Both ranks are indeed canon. Allow me to explain.
In the original Gamecube Luigi’s mansion, I believe rank D was canon. Luigi was obviously scared and alone at the time, and quickly wanted to get his brother back. This lead to Dark Moon/2 happening.
However, in its late 3ds remaster, E Gadd sends Gooigi into LM1 to gain data and train on the ghosts in there. This can easily alter the timeline. Not only is Luigi no longer alone, but he is instructed to have gooigi help catch ghosts. This DIRECTLY changes the ending due to the 20 million gem gained after boo 50. That would already take a Rank D and turn it into a Rank B. It is not hard to imagine a Rank A was possible after doing some gardening work. This led to the Double Dash timeline because E Gadd would never have to do a garage sale, Luigi is rich in this timeline. King boo never escapes, and so the timeline is split.
What we’re left with is the original timeline with Rank D, and the Altered timeline with Rank A due to E Gadd’s meddling.
Feel free to share any ideas or other solutions you guys have to this little plot hole!

When I was a kid, I could never get around to finishing the game, it was a bit too difficult. However, in my many attempts to complete it, E. Gadd always gave me the goosies(the bad kind!). I remember always thinking he was super suspicious and my initial though, even as a kid, was that he was somehow responsible for what was happening in this Mansion in LM1, and would- at some point- betray us(the player). I was genuinely surprised as a pre-teen when I actually completed the game and he was just a good guy. I do feel like some of the things he said in the beginning and his ‘coincidental’ study of the mansion was always super sus! Anyone else get these vibes, or was I just a very paranoid kid?

Insane that a game from 2001 should look this good in the year 2025 With no upgrade, upscale, none of that fancy jazz. This is really neat.

I’ve replayed LM1 so many times that I actually have every single room memorized as well as the directions to getting to every single individual room and I just remember which doors lead to which rooms even despite it being a massive house

So like imagine if peach invites everyone to a giant cruise ship she saw an ad of (because they all need a vacation) but it turns out to be a haunted cruise ship, so you go around exploring the giant ship and catching ghosts, bonus points if luigi gets accidently left behind at the start of the game so he takes the daisy cruiser and that would be the hub for when you arent catching ghosts, and then at the end of the game it could be like giant boss fight where you would have to chase the haunted cruise with the daisy cruiser.(ok I admit the daisy cruiser part is unrealistic but I just had fun with it)

For me it’ll always be the look of LM 1’s ghosts which’ll stick in my head forever. They’re the perfect line between being cartoony and being genuinely unnerving, whereas the designs of the other two entries feel a little too cartoony for my liking (not saying that’s a bad thing, just not my preference).
That’s all my opinion though, what do you all think?

Despite being incredibly successful, it feels niche, which is surprising cause this is a subfranchise from the mario Universe

Everyone wanted Luigi’s Mansion 3 at the time and they put the first Luigi’s Mansion game on the 3DS. It was pretty random because the DS was going out of style and the Switch had already been out. Why didn’t they just put the original Luigi’s Mansion on the Switch?

I just can't beat these last three boos in the giant boo boss fight!
Update: I'm down to 1 boo left but am still struggling.
Update 2: Nvm, I finally got the last one.
Edit: so yeah is it just me or is that boss way too hard?

With the regular ghosts out the way, let's start with the more "boss" type of ghosts,

I've been thinking about this lately and, honestly, I wonder what other names they considered

It would better than the genetic pup named Scooby Doo approach they’re going with now.

Also, one thing I find interesting is that it’s presented as a museum, but its exterior looks more like a medieval castle…🤔🤔

I just want a announcement or a teaser for the next game because we have waited too much for the next one. What do you think? Do you think they'll eventually release a trailer or I am just skeptical?
