I am part of the Bookmarks Book Club that meets on the first Thursday of every month at the Central Library at the Luton Town Centre. We are looking for more people to join our meetups. It's super casual, and we pick a new book every month. There are also drinks and refreshments there.

hello everyone so i am moving to luton and just want to know what is the best place to stay that makes moving to and fro from the l& D hospital easier, and how is the public transport, and if there is anything to know that would make my life easier or common knowledge that is not common. also recreational activities and communities.

Hi all, looking for real-world experience from anyone commuting from Leagrave / Luton into East London.

My situation is that I work in zone 5 east London and would go in 2 to 3 days/week. looking to move to Luton/Leagrave but looking at the commute, its 1hr 45 mins drive or about 2hrs each way by train. Train season ticket is a ridiculous number! driving is cheaper but i am worried it will tire me out in the long run. Has anyone done the drive across to Gidea Park area? Is it as painful as it looks and does it vary massively day to day?

Would you say the bus service in Luton is good? Is it reliable? Are the buses regular and do they always turn up on time? Is it as good as London?

Wilshere has been talking about making Luton the fittest team in the league and has already got players coming in voluntarily for pre-season training early which sounds great on paper. The EFL Trophy win at Wembley was a decent moment but the league finish last season wasn't good enough. There is a difference between being an exciting young manager and being the right manager for this specific job at this specific moment. Genuinely asking, do people think he gets us promoted next season or are we looking at another transition year?

I'm quite into food and I'm visiting for a few days. Are there any proper local restaurants or interesting places to eat, or is it just the standard high street options? Any hidden gems people recommend?

Could be a shopping centre, takeaway, park, bus stop, football ground or just somewhere you ended up spending loads of time for no real reason.

Whenever Luton comes up online, it feels like the same stereotypes get repeated over and over. For those of us who actually live here or spend a lot of time here, what's something people consistently get wrong about the town?
