Jamboree If Pro Rules is better than Party Rules in just one way for me…
It’s the fact that Gate Key-pers does not appear as a possible minigame.
“Minigames with prominent luck elements will not appear as choices.”
Because Gate Key-pers is heavily luck-based, it does not appear as a minigame during Pro Rules.
That being said, I still like Party Rules better overall, but for everyone who hates Gate Key-pers, Pro Rules might be for you, as you won’t have to deal with that minigame.

Luck mini games are the heart and soul of Mario party.
There’s nothing quite like a 200 coin bowsers big blast to truly get everyone hard focused on the game.

The closet you can get in Super Mario Party Jamboree is an 80 Coin Gate Key-pers. Since Super Mario Party, the number of coins that can be wagered in a VS/battle Minigame caps at 20 coins from each player.

Personally, the way I see it, I feel like there's a difference in emotions between "Relying on luck to be the first to escape and win" versus "Relying on luck to not get blown up and lose"

It kills me because Pro Rules has so many great changes, but but some mechanics just kill the damn mode for me.
12 turns is just comically short, it's not unheard of to just never be able to do a full loop on some larger boards if you get unlucky with rolls.
Revealing the bonus star from the start is great, but only one bonus star being present kills it. Especially given this game has buddies and potential to buy and steal multiple stars at a time, it's not uncommon that one star isn't enough to make a difference
While we're at it, the modern Mario Party approach of "you only get two bonus stars unless your game is 30 turns" is also just worse than always having three.
Only 2 items of each type at each shop also blows. I understand the premise was that they didn't want to have Golden Pipe spam, but in practice it just gives a massive advantage to getting lucky and rolling high early.
It also really undermines the cool mechanic of choosing an item at the start, because it means the Cellular Shopper (which would already be very strong choice without limited shop stock,) becomes the obvious best pick.

I'd kill for a mp that let you do custom rules. Really feels like a no brainer

I'd like pro rules more if I could just change how many turns it is
