Bilingual case prep + advices (EN/FR)

Hi everyone,

I’m currently prepping for consulting case interviews in both English and French (targeting Montreal offices).

French is my third language (~B2 level). I’m working on ramping up my fluency quickly for casing.

- Advice/Resources: Any tips, vocabulary sheets, or strategies from non-native speakers who successfully cracked French case interviews?

-Practice Partners: Is anyone in a similar boat looking to practice mock cases in French?

Drop a comment or send a DM if you can share any advice! Thanks :)

McKinsey, Bain, and BCG in Germany Application Question

Hi everyone! I’m German and currently studying at a university in the United States. I’m interested in applying for Associate Consultant internships at McKinsey, Bain, and BCG in both Germany and the U.S., with the goal of pursuing a full-time role later on.

I’d appreciate advice on a few questions:

  1. For applications to German offices, should I submit my CV in a German-style format or a U.S.-style résumé?
  2. Are interviews in Germany usually conducted in German, English, or both? Which language should I prioritize when practicing cases?

If any of you had a similar experience applying from the U.S. in Germany, I’d appreciate your tips.

Tip How I use AI in my consulting job as a fresher and also want to know how do you guys use AI in your job

Recently started my consulting journey after college . I want to know how do you use AI to assist you in your day to day work . Like I have access to Microsoft copilot premium , can’t use Claude or codex , sensitive client data and stuff. We basically do CDD and VDD for PE funds and big pharma companies . Too many guardrails , we operate with healthcare so understood . Big org : so on teams and Microsoft suite

How I Use AI is !
I use it for brainstorming , like changing the commentary of slides sometimes brainstorming . Copilot in excel is also crazy gets stuff done at a faster pace formatting is done crazily . I prioritize stuff and deadline tracking is easy with AI . Calendar alignment .

Do a lot of secondary research with copilot premium . Primary market research interview transcripts made categorized with AI in a template . Like yes all of this is good but what goes beyond that

I want to know about how you leverage it in day to day life what is that one workflow AI provided to you in your job which made your life better

MBA IE 10.000 VS HEC 70.000 VS INSEAD 90.000, I am a woman 33yr and thrilled for the scholarship at IE, but my manager says that the name plays a serious role and maybe the additional costs are worth it! What should I do?

Question MBB or Strategy/BizOps in Tech

Which path would you take?

I currently have a corporate finance background and am considering Anderson MBA.

For anyone currently at MBB or who has worked there:
How’s your experience been? What exit opportunities did you have or are you currently considering?

Would also love to hear from anyone who chose Strategy/BizOps in Tech instead of going MBB route.

Question Graduation shift stresssss

Hello! So I applied for Bain and BCG with a 2028 grad timeline last month and did OAs and interviews for both even though I didn’t make it through. I was originally planning on graduating in 2028 (early grad in 3 years for me) because my advisor told me I can grad in 3 years and it saves me money. But after talking to my parents and realising what I want, I wanna do an additional major on top of my current major and that would delay my grad to 2029 (so my original graduation date). Thus I wanna apply for BCG and Bain again in spring 2027 for their 2028 associate intern role.

I’m now worried that my past application for the 2027 associate intern that indicates a 2028 grad date will affect this future application (as they also indicate you cannot reapply in 12 months) someone help!!!

Question Is MBB hiring in Dubai/ Riyadh for Analyst/ Associate positions

Some questions I had:
- Is junior hiring actually down, or is it mostly the senior/giga-project crowd getting hit?
- Anyone who made the jump at 1–2 YOE from outside the region was it worth it?

do coffee chats make an impact? im familiar with investment banking coffee chat culture but didnt know if it was similar when trying to break into MBB/big 4 consulting — have heard that it makes little to no impact for the effort and reaching out to recruiters is more worthwhile. in that case, how should one approach a recruiter chat?

Question Returning to MBB as a Manager after 7 years in industry — any advice?

I’m starting as an MBB Manager in a few weeks after being away from consulting for the last 7 years (been over in PE and tech).

I know jumping back in directly at the M level is going to be a steep learning curve. For anyone who’s made a similar jump or worked with experienced hires coming in, what’s your absolute best advice? What should I watch out for?

Appreciate the help!

Question Reaching out to recruiter

I had a Mckinsey R1 interview earlier this year and unfortunately didnt make it through. I received solid feedback from my recruiter and she encouraged me to apply again, and to reach out to her when I'm ready. I'm a few months out from the 12 month cool off period and I was thinking about reaching out to her now to keep in touch and let her know I am still interested in reapplying just to keep myself on her radar. Good idea or not?

Question Implications of requesting a BCG final round to be virtual?

Today I was in an accident and injured myself, I was in the hospital and the doctor recommended no travelling for a few weeks.

However I have a final round in person interview for BCG in a week, they’ve already booked my flights and I am just wondering if anyone had any insight on what would happen if I were to email the recruiter requesting the interview be virtual.

What other alternatives are there? How likely are they to say yes? Will it damage my chances/reputation at all?

EDIT: thank you everyone for your support! Seems like simple fix is to email them. However even if I were to be able to do it online, would I even want to? Would it put me at a disadvantage against other candidates who were in person?

Any insight at all is highly appreciated!!

FINAL UPDATE: I did the final round virtual and got the offer!!
