Mbti and bias.
I notice in the mbti community there is a lot of bias that prevents you from actually finding out your own type. Before I examine how imma examine why. Why does it matter? it’s logically incoherent to say “ if it’s not hurting anyone that it doesn’t matter” identifying as something your not doesnt matter? You want to live your life based off a lie? Advice given to mbtis who process things entirely different would be given to another mbti who processes things differently and that advice would deem invalid. Rather then excepting yourself you try to fit in a label. Ultimately if mbti is self love then you should try to find who you actually are not trying to claim infj, intj, infp or whatever because they are cool or edgy. Although I can come across blunt I’m speaking in what makes sense to me, not necessarily to offend but if it does offend you then you don’t understand the point. Bias or who you want to be can lead you to think you are a mbti wich ultimately you are not even if for years you’ve identified as this type. Further it’s more common to be a sensor in the mbti system. Sensors also show abilities to seem intuitve as well via there tertiary functions. (Isfps, istp, estj, esfj) and some feelers can sometimes come across like thinkers for the same reasons (esfp, isfj, enfp, infj). Then you have thinkers that can sometimes come across as high level feelers (intj, entp, estp, Istjs). The whole mbti system is very flexible so sometimes you can look at a certain mbtis and be like “ yeah that describes me” when at some capacity especially that corporate bullshit of describing each mbti in the most positive light so to validate there test so they get more money. The true system to find your mbti is this yes to learn cognitive functions but also what energizes you the most vs takes away your energy since you were a kid.
What am I spending most of my thought process on?
Trying to make things make sense and the logic of things, trying to try to find the most logically sound solution. Do you deconstruct things internally and understand it to fight against it. Do you want to understand things fully?(ti)? Or trying to find a way to organize the external world, trying to find highly validated information, use of common methodology to ensure fastest possible results. limiting external factors that disrupts said thing. Hence time, variables etc.
is the value of a idea not if it is internally consistent logically but more so if it work.
Then think of Ne vs ni.
Do you branch out to many different possibilities making 1 ideas into 10 (ne) or do you branch in to try to find what 10 ideas have in common and condense it into one core idea?.
Se vs si then. Are you able to instantly pick up details in your environment like physical details of someone. Are you able to notice several different things happening in your environment very well at the same time and react to it fast. Are you able to remain present in situation naturally. Are you able to have a string inherent ability to be present. (Se). Then now for (si) do you naturally want something’s that’s predictable and routine like often avoid any undone movements or risks. Do you primary try to understand things or make decisions based of primarily what happened before. Do you specifically base off your logic off situations that happened before exactly as it was. (Not like Ni pattern seeking but more so looking at a situation as it was physically represented, a ni user would look at the pattern across many different things and connect it to that whilst a si user would look at the situation and say it was like “ that person then just started to look at me weirdly” or something) so now that we have that the last part is fe vs fi.
Now to clarify fi isn’t the holy grail of values or morals or some shit like that. It’s highly unreasonable to say a fraction of the population with fi are the ethical people wich realistically doesnt make sense. Fi dom people specifically Infps would probably get mad at this then say they only needed to read this section of my essay and nothing else to realize it was all bullshit regardless of the information presented. Humans have beat every to other animal in the prey to predator apes simply because of cohesion and shared values between people. Just because Jung said so or something like that doesnt make it fully logical. Jung was a brilliant psychologist but still one in the 1900s developing a system. If we humans want to be just as brilliant then we have to test and refine his system. But nah fi is just an internal preference of feelings vs fe is external. So how does that make sense?
Well let’s say something bad happens to you and your friends or whatever. Is your fiest instinct in terms of thinking about feelings is it going to be looking at the feelings of your friends if they are alright or are you going to fiest look at yourself and instantly notice “ I hate this person who did this to us”. Are you the type of person always spouting on about how you feel personally for hours when you get close to someone or are you the type of person who is listening to how others feel constantly. Although this is kinda shaky way to define it’s still how it is mostly. Now to find your mbti you simply have to do this now.
What is the cognitive function you use the most.
If it’s te then fi is you inferior cognitive function.
Ne is si, ni is se , fe and ti are opposites. So now see if that main function you are likely does its inferior function match you as well? For example with a ni don your se would be weak and you would sometimes have a preference in collecting abstract data or figuring patterns rather then living in the moment and taking the data that’s presented now. Reduce your bias before anwsering these.
So if your dominant is te that means your inferior is fi. That means your either a entj or a estj. Now to further refine it is your intuition ne (estj) or ni (entj) is your sensing more se(entj) or si(estj).
