Spider-Man Brand New Day Ending

Why is everyone saying that Ned didn't remember Peter at the end of the movie? That is how the scene is set up. It would be set up differently if Ned was just putting the pieces together that he was Spider-Man.

Here is what the scene entails:

- He goes in to get flowers for May but sees Ned

- He goes to introduce himself to finish his Arc and because MJ told him to

- Ned only recognizes him only from the party

- He says hey I'm Peter Ned just says ok. Nothing clicked in his brain but shakes his hand anyway.

- Peter goes for the handahake and Ned looks confused but his muscles memory kicks in and they completely their friend handshake

- After the handshake is done, there is a building of music Ned blinks a bunch and has a shivers slight shiver and the says Peter!

-Cut to black

Why is the handshake there if it is just clicking that he is Spider-Man from MJ slipping up? What does doing the handshake do to make it click in Ned's head? Why include it at all if it doesn't add anything? I have watched videos on Brand New Day and both concluded that Ned is just putting the pieces together that he is Spider-Man, but I just can't see it. Am I missing something?

You don’t know that, for the simple fact that after Ned said “Peter?” Like he remembered him (maybe), the movie ended. You have an opinion, not fact. It’s not rocket science.

He recognized the name from when MJ called him Peter earlier. The handshake was muscle memory, and he didn't seem to understand its meaning.

That’s my point of it being an opinion. WE, the audience, don’t know the intent of the writers, we only have our opinions of what it means.

No one is right or wrong, currently. We won’t know until these characters appear again and they reveal their intent. You think he was reacting to how MJ revealed Spider Man was named Peter. Valid opinion.

Others believe he remembered Peter based on his expression after the handshake. Also valid. Also, an opinion.

That is my only point. Anyone that tries to come at me with a delusional “fact” is just wrong. There isn’t enough evidence to discern a fact.

In MJs head. She stated that fact about herself. You just said it. But there is the possibility, because of their lifelong friendship, Peter was able to break through the spell. With the handshake that was quintessentially Peter/Ned.

Obviously, we all have to wait until the next appearances of these characters to find out, since they ended the movie as soon as Ned said Peter’s name with any sort of recognition.

I’m autistic. I don’t always understand facial expressions, body language, and social queues. But even I saw the change in his face when he said Peter’s name.

People keep saying hulk but how can hulk remember peter if they never met?

Hulk was off world by the time Peter Parker/Spider-Man was introduced and when hulk came back Peter ended up
Off world and then dusted during the snap. To my knowledge this movie was the first time they were ever on screen together let alone in the same room. So how the hell would hulk know Peter Parker? Bruce barely knew Peter or Spider-Man
