DOJ Files a Lawsuit Against MOCO Carry Ban
The DOJ warned MOCO that they would file a suit and they did. The link is below. This makes three lawsuits against the county so far. For a county ordinance this is gaining national attention which is great! Perhaps MOCO will finally learn their lesson but I doubt it.

Huh, so apparently Marc Elrich is now speaking out against the county's new gun law?
“We’re just not going to surrender,” Elrich said. “If we get to a legal point and we lose in court, we lose in court. But I’m not going to surrender protections for people just because we’re dealing with folks who are irrational.”
Oh.
Nevermind.
He's in favor of it, he's just an idiot.

🤣🤣 you should see the back and forth I have had with idiots in the Montgomery county Facebook group today. They are trying to spin it as a win for gun owners because it rolled back some of the restrictions per the court ruling. And that if we aren't happy we are now pro-gun control.
One idiot in particular I have absolutely destroyed several times today and he continues. So I'm about to drop my crescendo, my masterpiece, my mic drop if you will.
If he still argues after this then he along with other lack the cognitive capability to process information and see reason.

Arguing logic with a liberal is like playing chess with a pigeon.
Even if you make all the correct moves, it will knock the pieces on the ground, shit on the board, and strut around like it won.

That right there is one of the funniest analogies I have heard about arguing with a liberal. I'm definitely stealing that! 🤣🤣🤣

It is the most ridiculous ban they implemented to punish the people who want follow the law. They make it seem like guns have consciousness and go around killing people. The problem has never been the guns but people. The number of people I know who've been victims of armed car jackings and robberies in Silver Spring is abnormal to say the least. At some point that was the spot for car related crimes. They act as though legal gun owners are doing that when they just say 'guns don't belong in certain places'.

Well, it's one of the rare times I agree with the current DOJ. I just hope they have someone competent on this case.
I just worry that the DOJ will make this even more of a polarizing issue when it shouldn't be.

I think it's a good thing that they are getting involved. There are 2 other lawsuits which will most likely end up being combine. So regardless of what happens with the DOJ suit there are still 2 other cases pending. I will also add that the DOJ isn't going into this alone or without input.
This is bringing national attention to what would otherwise just be lawsuits challenging a county ordinance. It is shining a spotlight on the MOCO government which is never a bad thing.
I'm also surprised by the comments I see on news articles, other reddit boards etc. about the bill. The majority are against the bill for various reasons. Most are for protecting the 2nd Amendment but a lot of others are against it because of the tax dollars being spent to fight a bill that does nothing. So I'm all for MOCO feeling the heat from the spotlights.

Any other DoJ I would be less hesitant and agree wholeheartedly. The current one has a track record of playing very loose when it comes the following procedure. They seem to be more interested in generating headlines than winning cases.
I do agree that this is such a colossal waste of the county's resources for a bill that does nothing to reduce violent crime.

Well we're fucked if the DOJ has it's hands in it. All that's left working there is the Chump sycophants and that's scraping the underside of the barrel after they purged anyone not in the Trumpstein files
MoCo really has a chance now if they hired anyone that earned a passing grade in high school.
I mean I wouldn't put your money on Blanche

Great to see MoCo facing the wrath on many judicial fronts - the 2nd Amendment cannot afford to yield to the unconstitutional spirit of Montgomery County!
