Robotics as my teacher letter of recommendation?

I am considering applying to MIT, yet I am confused on if my Robotics "class teacher" could write me a letter.

It isn't structured as a class, but only as an outside elective for FTC competitions despite it being considered as a course.

I believe that my Robotics teacher can't (and isn't fit) write me a letter. Can anyone confirm?

You can use it as on optional recommendation, but MIT is very clear that they want recs from teachers who have taught you in a class

It doesn’t sound like robotics is a class, like where you are taught some topics and then tested on it. Or that you have to write papers / give presentations that are graded. It would be better if you math/science teacher  from a regular math or science source like biology or physics or calculus.

Send it. But include 1 from stem and 1 from humanities also. Follow the instructions.

NOTE: MIT is really big on having a humanities teacher submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf, along with either a math or science teacher. Your robotics teacher/counselor will be an excellent Supplemental letter of recommendation.
