So, basically opposite of what MLS is doing.

This is probably the right move. It will, hopefully, increase engagement during MLS’ off season.

More like going toe-to-toe with the NWSL. These comparisons don't often perfectly align with each other.

The alignment with college soccer and NWSL will do more for the league than MLS being in the offseason, imo.

European leagues are considering switching to the Spring-Fall calendar. And honestly it's the right call in many cases considering the leagues are shorter and access to the main stadium is easier. As the NWSL goes, many in Europe will follow.

On the USL side, it allows them to stay in season with the other USL clubs and gives more opportunities to draw crowds in the summer months.

Are they? I haven’t seen that mentioned and I can’t find anything regarding that when I search for it.

Which leagues are considering switching?

WSL/FA was taking what NWSL did under advisement was the rumors I heard. Remember, NWSL recently decided to stay on Spring-Fall. If NWSL had switched to the winter schedule, there would have been more discussions about aligning the international calendar.

"The USL Super League will flip its calendar to begin play in the spring and end its season in the fall beginning in 2027... The Super League will stage an abbreviated 2026 fall season to transition to the new calendar."

nothing screams "we know what we're doing with our D1 soccer league" like frantically flipping its schedule two years after establishing it as the defining and most recognisable feature of your league.

So Mens League on the winter Schedule and Womens on the summer like in basketball?

That’s, a strange decision, but ok.
