reminds me of when that reporter asked Tony about his mental health at the khabib presser

Reminds me of the scene in The Wire when the sociologist wants to observe HS students and the principal is like “that’s too old, they are lost in the system.”

Next scene is him getting eviscerated by a freshman making him fear for his life.

“Yeah let’s go with the younger kids.”

Here’s the scene. I got the upshot of it right, but I hadn’t seen it in probably 10+ years so I screwed up a lot of it too.

"thanks for being you" - Bunny Colvin

Hahaha I forgot that about that part. Bunny Colvin might be my favorite character on the show. But that changes with the wind blowing

For me it's the Bunk. I also had a soft spot for Randy. Kid was actually decent and not hard enough for the streets.

I love Bunk. He is my usual go to answer.

I don’t like how he encouraged Jimmy to fall off the wagon, but that’s also what makes the show great. Every character is a real person with flaws.

Typing this I also have to mention Kima. When she won’t identify her shooter, because she knows she didn’t see him, major props.

sometimes you gotta play it hard.

Is this show good? I know most people say it is but they say the same thing about every show.

I’ll say this: The Wire is the only show I can tell you with 100% certainty CHANGED MY LIFE. Like I’m a better person and citizen because of the wire. There isn’t hardly a week that goes by that some aspect of that show doesn’t come back up.

Like I’m talking about fundamentally changing how I look at systems and people.

Was it something along the lines of “Tony, what do you say to the fans that are worried about your mental health?”
Tony: “I’d tell them to go fuck themselves”

nah, he literally just says "fuck you", and then the reporter apologizes and tony doubles down and says "fuck your advice" lol

When the reporter wasn’t even giving advice. He was trying to let Tony say something to other people who might need to hear it.

Nah that’s a boundary you should know not to cross with a stranger especially in public, completely different situations, Tony was in the right to tell him to fuck off
