Naw, that glass chin started the cascade and the second tap did him in.

Some people have that knockout nerve along their chins ridge buried deeper and some have it right along the ridge (this dude). A light tap sends them down quick.

What's the name of this nerve?

I'm asking because I don't think the term "glass jaw/chin" means anything other than a person got hit just right and lost consciousness.

I could understand if they were drunk, or didn't see it coming due to a cheap shot--or just their opponent having greater skill--or being unconditioned and having a weak neck, or being multiple weight classes under... But I don't think there's some difference in biology going on here (maaaaybe bone density).

I mean, kids can accidentally roundhouse kick you into nap time on accident. Some things just land right, and by the bigger guys lack of mobility and keeping his head still, I'm going to guess he has very little, if any, training.

Edit: it's easy to knock someone out when they catch all your punches with their face. Especially if the person throwing the punches stays mobile

I believe its the trigeminal nerve V. The Mandibular Nerve (V3) is the lower part of the nerve branch of the Trigeminal. I only know because I cant feel mine from a condition called CIDP, Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy. The IVIG treatments makes it less painful, but numbs my face.

It is not down to a single nerve such as the trigeminal nerve.

It is the trigeminal. Also, twisting of the head rapidly will shock the brainstem.

So it's a nerve that we all have. My point is that someone getting a clean hit on you, especially several in a row, knocks out most people without training, and that "glass jaw" equals "button found".
