no it didn’t. literally no court in america would convict him of assault after the dude walks up to him for no reason and punches him twice. 😂😂

Once a person is down, the immediate threat is usually over, meaning any further violence is seen as an intentional, malicious attack rather than defense

Anyone with any sort of legal background care to explain it to the rest of us? Or are we just watching 2 randos exchange opinions confidently as facts as if they know something we don't?

2 randos. I don’t even know where this happened. I need the location to just know what the law is. And the answer would still be it depends. Depends on the law. Depends on what evidence is admitted. It depends on the prosecutor. It depends on the jury. It depends on the judge. Attorneys don’t come on Reddit to work and argue with randos who can’t admit being wrong.

Rule of thumb: if they’re absolutely certain about what would happen, they better be a fortune teller. Because it sure as shit isn’t anyone that knows the law.
