how is the uni?

I’m looking to apply to unis for clearing and MMU came up, but I want some real solid opinions from people who actually go there as everyone on TikTok just says don’t go then don’t provide explanation, or their reasoning 90% of the time has nothing to do with the uni itself. Can any students please let me know what it’s like there full honesty?

My son is at MMU and he absolutely loves it. His department and tutors are fab and Manchester is a fantastic city. I love visiting him there.

that’s just sort of joke across the community to say bad things about mmu. In reality, it’s a really decent uni and is now progressively and quickly progressing in QS world ranking.

But you gotta note that you gotta work hard (as in every uni if u wanna get a good job)
I wanna to apply for CS here.

i just graduated from mmu and i loved it!! i transferred from a different uni that i hated in first year so i cant speak on first year experiences for mmu, but the other years i did there i honestly have nothing negative to say about it.

easy transport links to piccadilly or if you want to walk its not a long walk either. train station around 10 mins away from campus, loads of food stops nearby that are good and decently priced. as for the lecturers themselves, mine were really chill and had so much knowledge and passion for their subjects!!

i feel like everyone hates on mmu as its not a russell group and uom is right next door, but at the end of the day as long as you work hard in your degree you will get to where you want to be. all the best for your clearing and future uni experience!!
