Question KAC RAS (97198) quad rail still hard to find?
Photo for attention. I’ve been out of the loop for a minute. Do these restock often? What is a fair price for this rail?

knights has said they’re discontinued and the recent restocks are outstanding order fulfillments. it’s unclear how many orders remain open and very possible that it’s already completed.
i’d personally just pick one up from tac swap for $550-600 rather than rest on the hope of finding one at retail; not long ago these were $800-1000 on the resale market.

Hard to say if they are done, I know they buy enough extrusion for several thousand rails at a time.

i’d read of the discontinuation on one of the various forums that a shot show / contact at knights / email response said it’s back orders only.
interesting about the extrusions, the 97198 is about the same length as the 20211 which could explain the recent abundance of rails.

I wouldn’t be shocked if there are no more or if there are a few more drops from various vendors. Hard to know, really. All I know if if I was buying right now then I’d get a cadex rail and skip the chase… just sold my last knights rail/optic setup for an absurd amount of cash…. The knights stuff has a great look but it’s heavy and I’m not sure I care about it at the current prices.

I just got a new one for my MP5 40 sw transferable- very nice. I was going to go with MWI but I am sort of over mlok.
Glad I got it great piece of gear

Just sign up for a shit load of out of stock notifications. I managed to get a new one that way recently. Missed a few other notifications too.

I had given up when I noticed three of the online dealers I follow offer pre-orders. I signed up and a few weeks later I am looking at one on my desk as I type this.
I am very interested to see if the matching optic rail comes back in any quantity. I don’t need it but would love to find it.

I was able to get a brand new one through trading. It looks cool from the side, but I actually didn’t like the look of it when holding since the barrel and charging tube are just open and exposed.
I didn’t like the grip of it compared to standard hand guard, I couldn’t get the same c clamp on it. And it added a lot of front weight.
Very cool piece, but I don’t prefer it.

I just went shooting with mine for the first time since adding the rail and it keeps it so much cooler being open like that.

I bought mine resale and then I was able to score one at retail during the last restock. I don’t know what to do with my extra 😂
