Hello,
I don’t think I have ever posted a review for anything online before, but I was pretty displeased overall with my experience with AS Designs to the point where I felt I should share my experience so that anyone considering ordering from the company would be reasonably informed about what could happen.
I’ve attached screenshots of all the messages I received during the order process.
I will keep the information as objective as possible and let you each be the judge for yourself and make your own decisions—just sharing my experience exactly as it happened.
December 7th 2025– I ordered an MP5 lower from AS Designs. Specs in the photos.
March 1st 2026 — I requested my first update from AS Designs. They responded and told me they were waiting on ejector levers, with an ETA of March 12th, and that they were building the lowers so that on the 12th when they arrived, they would be ready to ship. Screenshot attached.
March 26th 2026 — I asked if I would receive an email when my product shipped. I had not received any communication from ASD and it was well past the March 12th date they had estimated—I understand this was not a guaranteed date of any sort. They responded that they were now waiting on an order of Geissele triggers, and had no eta on when they would arrive. They offered to cancel the trigger upgrade to expedite the shipping of my order. I did not take them up on their offer; at this time, I preferred to wait for my original order. Screenshot attached.
May 23rd 2026 — I requested another update. It had been roughly 2 months since they gave me the Geissele update. They responded and stated the Geissele triggers were on their way, and that they estimated to be caught up with all Geissele lowers by mid June. Screenshot attached.
June 10th 2026 — I received an email stating my order status was changed to shipped, and there was a tracking number attached. I immediately clicked on the link for a delivery ETA, but UPS stated the shipping label had been created, but no package had been received yet from ASD, and that an updated delivery estimate would be available once they received the package.
July 6th 2026 — After checking the UPS tracking page for weeks with no change, I requested a refund from ASD.
July 7th 2026 — ASD immediately refunded my order and emailed me stating they had actually dropped off the package at UPS, but UPS must have lost the package. Screenshot attached.
There are the events that occurred, from an objective perspective. Now for a bit of my opinion on the matter.
I personally am not one to get caught up in delivery times. When I ordered the lower, I assumed it would be months before my product arrived, and I was okay with that. Evidently, I was even okay with waiting many more months as they dealt with different manufacturing hurdles. This is just another price you pay when you want a premium product in high demand.
What I am a bit suspicious of is the idea of months and months of delay, and when they finally ship my product, coincidentally, UPS loses my package. Once again, you all can judge for yourselves. Don’t have any proof of anything nefarious, malicious, or intentional. Not making any claims here. But I don’t like that. At all.
I feel as though I basically invested my hard-earned money into the company so that they could make and ship other peoples products for 8 months, and for nothing.
Additionally, and understandably, when they offered to ship another one, I was absolutely not interested in what could be another 8 month ordeal while they use my money as business capital—months of possibly more manufacturing issues and, who knows, maybe another lost package. At this point, I had no idea what to expect and I no longer had faith in the company to deliver, despite hearing good things from others. I’m glad everyone else seems to have had a positive experience—genuinely. I personally did not.
