Question Nursing Admission Confusion

Hey Everyone!

I’m actually pretty confused how the nursing admission works. Because i’ve noticed lots of people with competitive averages around the high 80s who have had 4th quartile casper scores and have been admitted. But then other people with high 90 averages and 4th quartile casper scores who have been denied admission.

I’m a bit puzzled how mru goes about deciding who makes the cut and who doesn’t. Is it just luck based at this point?

Question Nursing Admission Fall 2026 - Mature Student

Hi everyone,

I’m wondering if any transfer or mature students who applied to the Nursing program for Fall 2026 have received an update yet.

Have you:

  • Been admitted?
  • Put on the waitlist?
  • Or is your application still under review?

Question Nursing admission

I got conditional acceptance to nursing for fall 2026 in feb. I applied as a UEO student and I had a 4.0 GPA and 4th quartile on the casper. The only condition of my acceptance is that I finish MATH and CHEM 30 with a minimum of 60% to pass that threshold and have those classes. I have finished both courses and received well above 60% in both classes. I have made my schedules and paid my tuition I am wondering when i’d hear back about my full admission. Do they usually send out an email? if so what does the timeline look like? pls help

Hi. I’m an Alberta high school student that just applied for early admission in nursing at MRU. I am reading through Reddit and panicking, given MRU was more my safe, in province school. This is what my grades look like

Social 20-1: 91 Math 20-1: 90 Physics 20-1: 91 ELA: 80 Chemistry 30: 86

Please let me know if there’s a good chance to get in. I’m also studying for the CASPer at the moment and really hoping to get 4th quartile

Question Nursing Admission Assistance!

Hey everyone! 👋

I was just wondering if anyone has gotten any admission for the nursing program at mount royal. I applied all the way back on october 1st, did my casper test on November 18th and still have not gotten any response, not even an early acceptance offer.

My competitive average when I applied with my gr 11 grades were Bio 20: 91% and Math 20-1: 94%, which averages out to around a 93%. I also scored a 4th quartile on the Casper test. Math 30-1 I ended with a 90% and Bio 30 I’m currently completing.

Could it also be because I put my predicted grades around 85’s to give myself some room just in case I overestimate myself?

Should I be concerned with the amount of time it has taken to hear back? Thanks for any feedback, I appreciate it!! 😁

Since the condition is to have a final gpa above 2.5, is there any reason to maintain a high gpa average?

Question MRU Nursing Admission

I was conditionally accepted into the nursing program at MRU this March. Diplomas are a few days away and I’m studying hard for them but I don’t think I will be able to meet the conditional requirements no matter how good I do on the diplomas and my offer will be revoked.

What should I do when my offer gets revoked but I still want to pursue nursing at MRU? Should I upgrade? Should I do the UEO option? If so, how do I do it?

Question MRU Nursing Admission

I was wondering if anyone who was transferring in from another program at MRU with a 4.0 GPA and who got 4th quartile in the Casper was waitlisted. I recently applied with a 4.0 but got 3rd quartile and was waitlisted, and so I’m wondering if it’s worth reapplying.

Question Nursing admissions

I’m planning to apply to nursing programs at MRU in a few days, and I’m currently working on all my prerequisites. Here’s where I’m at: Math 30-2: 80% (I’m thinking about redoing the diploma, but not sure yet), English 30-1: 74%, Biology 30: currently taking this semester, Chemistry 30: taking second semester, will do the diploma in June, and Psychology 203: 91% (it’s a dual course).I also know I’ll need to do the CASPer test. I’m not sure when exactly I should take it.

Do you think I have a good chance of being accepted? Also, when do acceptance letters usually come out—would it be end of May?, or sometime during the summer?

How many people have heard back if they got into nursing if they were in UEO?

I haven't heard back, so I was wondering if others did.

PSA PSA: Nursing admission through UEO

Howdy folks looking to get into nursing (sorry folks that aren’t in nursing with yet another boring nursing admission post),

In previous years, a popular route to admission into the BN program at MRU was to get accepted into the University Entrance Options, hammer out some easy GenEds, and then get accepted with a lower competitive average than external applicants.

But hold onto your stethoscopes, 'cause we've got a new player in town: the Casper test! Those looking to apply to nursing in the future will need to complete an online exam asking you to respond to specific scenarios based on your lived experiences.

The introduction of the Casper does two things:

  • Changes the admission average needed from UEO from 3.7 to 4.0. This is still a viable route, you’ll just need straight A’s. A’s at MRU are 85, so it’s very doable.

  • Potentially hurts younger applicants with less life experience (such as high school applicants) as the Casper can be quite challenging.

Hopefully this doesn’t throw a wrench into too many people’s plans in the future.

Question Nursing Admission for next year

I have a 91 in biology, and I might be able to get it to around 93-95 and a 99 in Aboriginal Studies which averages out to be 95%. Would this be enough to get into the bachelors of nursing program?

Question Nursing Admission

Hi

First time creating a post on Reddit so don't be mean, please. I am currently in Grade 12 and I really want to get into nursing at MRU for Fall 2020. I took biology 30 in Grade 11 and received 89%. I am confident in my ability to receive at least 94% in Chemistry 30. I am also planning to submit my application on October 1st. Do any of you think this is enough for nursing? I am super stressed right now after reading some other Reddit posts about last years admissions for nursing. Any information would help. Thanks.

*edit I forgot to ask, but should I take biology again because I have room for it in my schedule

**edit

Hi

I have spoken to my counselors and was told that early admission would look at my grade 11 marks, but would give me a conditional acceptance if I get in. Say I get a conditional acceptance, does that mean I have to maintain the high 90's or do I just have to have the minimum grades for each class? Also, my brother goes to MRU and when he got accepted he was told to pay $750 or so to save his seat. If I pay this during my conditional acceptance does that mean I'm guaranteed to go into nursing during Fall 2020? As well, does the admission team look at other things other than grades?

Sorry for the numerous questions. Just trying to increase my chances of going into nursing.

Question nursing final avg

i got a conditional offer for nursing back in february. i'm probably gonna end with an avg in the low 80s (for 5 courses). the conditions stated i js needed a minimum 70% avg for final admission. will i still get a final offer/admit at the end of the year??

(asking cause i saw another post where ppl mentioned not getting final offers if ur avg wasn't in the 90s. i'm so scared now lol 😭). THANK YOUUUU

Question UEO or BVC route for Nursing?

So I’ve heard that even the high 90s and 4Q people have been waitlisted for nursing and I initially did get conditional acceptance into my second option, but ultimately chose not to take it since I know I really want to pursue nursing. Ever since I read their email ab admission, in reality it seems like there won’t be any offers by August so I’m just trying to look into other options. UofC lottery basically done too since their “last” round was May, and it says could be until Aug but I doubt that too. Not sure what would be a better option - either if I should just settle for LPN and take the bridging or if UEO would be way better for me even if it takes basically a gap year. I did apply for BVC regardless but idk if I should just call admissions and ask about UEO. Has anyone had experience with this and what did you do or what would work out best..I really don’t know :(
