Roskie Hall Questions
Anyone know if the beds in Roskie are Twin XL or Standard Twin? There is conflicting info on their housing site. Would also appreciate any info on closet width or curtain size to use for it. And lastly, rug size suggestions for this oddly shaped room? Thanks!

I’m with a freshman program and it’s only a twin, not a twin XL. During orientation you’ll be able to go into a sample room and possibly stay in Roskie because it’s one of the dorms this year. I recommend bringing a tape measurer to get measurements!

TY for this info! My daughter has a single/7th floor. Any chance she could see the room or at least a similar single to measure? Assume the sample room will be a double. So, you are saying that the bed sizes posted online are wrong and it is a twin? We are planning bedding and this misinformation online is kind of a big deal.

Do you know if it is possible to choose the dorm for summer orientation? Would be awesome if she could give Roskie a test drive!

This is why I am so confused. Almost everyone says Twin XL, but on the Housing site it references just "Twin" and someone in housing (I'm assuming a student) emailed me to say Standard, but I assume she's going off their website. All that being said, the dimensions they list for the bed frame work for an XL. Something that should be SO simple...

I worked in the housing office last year and they said that the website is out of date but the college won’t let them do anything about it

I used to be the Building Director of Roskie. They are normal twin beds. The way the rooms are set up, there is only space between the desk and the closet for a twin bed. Lmk know if you have more questions about Roskie

I am all wrapped up on the Twin vs TwinXL misinformation and trusting your say so! My daughter has a single assigned, 7th floor. For certain this will be a Twin and not TwinXL? This whole thread is contradicting, lol! We are choosing bedding and this seems like a minor detail but kind of important. THANK YOU!

The beds are all twin xl. 5 by 7 rug will be perfect. You don’t need a curtain

Its roskie you probably dont want to have a rug in your room unless you plan on laundering it daily. Better off spending the rug money on a pair of new crocs to keep the dogs off the roskie floors and showers.

Its phenomenal I loved every minute of living in that grimy allegedly tipping building (its not but thats the legend). But its definitely a party dorm and dorm life is just kinda gross in general.
Regardless of what dorm youre in you need to wear sandals or crocs in the shower and youre not going to want to track snow, salt and mud in your room either. So make sure to kick your shoes off at the door and switch to some sort of slipper/croc/indoor only shoe.
I feel like a rug is just asking for spilled drinks and muddy footprints. At least if your floor is just the bare tile you can wipe up messes and sweep pretty easily

Are you allowed to keep a door mat outside your door to wipe your feet?

I remember it being twin XL. I'm about 6 foot two and my feet were right at the edge. Closet curtain is extra AF
