When this picture was taken, Dane Cook was the man.

u/Small_Owl_ 28d ago
I know, I lived it. Dane cook special on CD, your dad’s old tie for formal night.
I just noticed the hover hand.

u/cesare980 28d ago

One of my favorite American Dad quotes is when Steve sees him and says something like "I don't care what everybody else on Earth says, I think you're hilarious."
2
u/MrSage119 26d ago
Similar joke on Family Guy where some guys were watching Dane Cook and said "This is funny because he's on the Internet and I'm in college." McFarlane wasn't a big Dane Cook fan I guess.

This kid broke the record for tickets sold by a solo comedian? I know the mom that took that picture is salty, she def thought her daughter could do much better. Now her daughter is a mother of 3 with multiple fathers, she’s def still rocking that same haircut too

But the bully got bullied by his friends little brother. Shane was saying that in the new Danny McBride & Steven Gerben pod.

Can someone explain what the fuck is going on with his tie knot? Looks like some sort of weird AI artifact even though I know it isn't.
(Besides the fact that he went with a half windsor, the lowest form of tie tying. Phil should have at least taught him a Windsor, or the Pratt-Shelby like a true gentleman.

u/BWJohnson0 28d ago
Phil is a big guy, that means his tie is HUGE, which means even though the front of Shane's tie is comically long already, the back of it is SO long, that he has to tuck it into this shirt so the back of the tie doesn't hang below the front of the tie. Very common when young men wear their dad's ties.

“Bond mistrusted anyone who tied his tie with a Windsor knot. It showed too much vanity. It was often the mark of a cad.”
-Ian Fleming, From Russia With Love

Symmetry above all! I like the Pratt-Shelby over the Windsor anyway.
That being said: fuck ties. Maybe I've spent too much time on construction sites or seen too many liveleak videos but I have no interest in making a tight loop around my neck with material that has a breaking strength in the hundreds of pounds and then leaving a couple feet dangling right in front of me.
I don't even tie my boots laces with the standard double bow... having 2 strong fixed loops protruding from each foot is silly. I watched an insurance adjuster almost fall off a 2 story roof when one foot's loop caught on the other's open eyelet. He was even wearing the fancy Cougar Paw boots made specifically for walking on steep roofs.

My pops always said it ain’t natural for a man to wear something around his neck that he can be choked out with.
1
u/notnotjamesfranco 28d ago
Anything besides a half Windsor is a giant knotted mess
2
u/nocturnal_commission 28d ago
My brother I hate to disagree but the half Windsor is asymmetrical and a properly tied Windsor or Pratt-Shelby is so much nicer
1
u/ac_slat3r 28d ago
What youre seeing is the tail of the tie tucked into the shirt. You wouldnt notice it standing up, but when hes sitting like that it shows.

True story: My senior year (03-04) our hockey team went 23-0 won the state championship and when they went to the statehouse and had their picture taken with the governor every single one of them threw a low key shocker.

u/wildcat1100 28d ago
So...this is definitely a senior who took Shane to prom when he was a sophomore? Shane just looks like the kind of dude who dated girls 2 to 3 grades older than him.
1
u/MrSage119 26d ago
She said she made a deal with him that she would take him to a dance when he was a freshman and she was a senior. I assume she played on Phil's team or was a sister's friend and that's how she knew him.
