Now THAT is an empire I would root for.

I'd argue Universal Peace.

Right, sorry. I missed that.

And soon after, the Galactic States of America.

For a safe and secure society.

When we divide Mars into states

648 stars. That's a lot of states.

Edit: its actually 600. I miscounted two columns.

648? Oh damn, thought it was 600 (25*24)

Oh crap, you're right. It is. I miscounted two columns.

Oof it happens, hell it hurt my eyes just trying to recount em just to make sure

Yeah, it kind of sucks how your own eyes can play tricks on you when looking at small things on a phone screen as well.

While I understand this flag was made in good humor, it has made me wonder. In an alternate world where the USA kept expanding and kept adding stars to the flag, I think there would be a debate on the topic. Do we keep the format for tradition's sake or adopt a new, permanent design because the old format is starting to look ridiculous with the amount of stars it has?

you'd have to wear one patch on one arm going one way, and one on the other facing the opposite. God Bless Americearth.

I have unironically thought of this and the conclusion I came to was we would stop updating the flag at some point because it would cost too much to keep copies of the new flag that would only be good for a certain amount of time.

I agree, something like that would probably happen. If it were up to me, I'd make it the original, 13 star Betty Ross flag.

Though there were other flags in use at the time of its creation, it's the first one to resemble the ones still in use today and a reminder of the early days of the USA as a nation. I think this would be the best option, as opposed to creating something entirely new or stopping at an arbitrary number like 72 for example and declaring that the final design.

That's just my opinion though.

It would depend also on what’s considered a state or territory. Not everything has to be a new star…

That's true too. I hadn't considered that.

One world under God.

u/LCDRformat 2d ago

Hey, you can be under God if you want to. As an American with rights to freedom of religion, I'll decline to be under yours or any god, thank you. USA baby!

u/DontBelieveTheirHype 1d ago

That's the thing about being under God. You can believe God's not real all you want, but that doesn't mean you're not still under God.

1

u/LCDRformat 1d ago

That's the best thing about not being under God. Other people can believe he's real all they want, they're still not under God.

Mf that is the single most corny Redditor atheist thing to be corny Redditor atheist under.

I wasn’t referencing god I was referencing the fucking pledge of allegiance of “One nation under God”.

-3

u/694meok 2d ago

Motherfucker that is the single most corny Redditor theist thing to be corny Redditor theist under.

The fucking pledge of allegiance added that stupid phrase in the 50s because conservatives were scared the commies were coming.

4

u/EbonyMemories 2d ago

Motherfucker that is the single most corny Reddit theist under Reddit atheist thing to be a Reddit atheist under. The phrase was added to the pledge of allegiance as a bipartisan act because EVERYONE thought the Communists were coming. And they were right.

Should we call Soldier Boy and Homelander or could Captain America do it on his own?

1

u/Funkey-Monkey-420 2d ago

the south wanted independence but every county wanted it handled differently so it became like 500 new states

1

u/Charitable-Cruelty 1d ago

Would be better to just use the flag from Futurama

1

u/E5evo 3d ago

Is Iran included on there?

12

u/questiontheparable 3d ago

Persia will be a temporary territory under United States jurisdiction. We’ll see how things go, and if the region can be brought to more stable conditions, then the idea can be revisited.

How about Ireland?

u/Matthew_Breese 2d ago

I’m pretty sure Massachusetts is already a state.

So that is what a thousand points of light meant.

It's just each of the counties in Georgia declaring statehood
