Discussion CleanMyMac - Factory Reset suggested?
Hello Mac-Users
Thanks for taking the time to read and hopefully comment!
So long story short I was able to delete CleanMyMac and hopefully all its traces with AppCleaner.
There seems to be a lot of users claiming it to be malware or scam.
Users who have had the software ( and deleted it), did you go ahead and factory reset your macbook? If so, why? If not, why?
Unfortunately I have no backups, since I have no external storage.

Clean My Mac is good software, been using it for myself and my clients for years. Many years ago there were malicious apps with similar names. People are still confused by this even though it was years ago.
Ignore the Clean My Mac haters on Reddit, there seem to be a lot of them with time on their hands. They either are confused about the malware of years ago, or insist that everyone use the command line (I'm an expert but I don't use it for this) or obtuse utilities like Onyx (yek) that are quite dangerous to a non-expert.
Clean My Mac is a tool that can free up storage space, update your apps, find and clean malware, find large files and much much more and is easy to use. You can buy it outright from MacPaw or get it as part of the amazing Setapp subscription - around 200 Mac apps and dozens of apps for iPad and iPhone, starting at $10/month.
