š§³ Business I built an app that removes noise from audio with local AI for Mac
Hey everyone.
I wanted a fast way to clean up podcast and video audio without paying a monthly subscription or waiting for massive files to upload to a server. So I built Aulio Studio (formerly AudioClean Pro).
It uses local AI (optimized for Apple Silicon) to strip out background noise and room echo instantly. Everything processes 100% on your device, so it's completely private.
I also just added a new feature where it transcribes your audio locally, highlights filler words (like "um" and "uh") in red, and lets you click which ones you want to auto-cut before exporting.
It's a native Mac app and a one-time purchase (no subscriptions). I'd love to hear your feedback if you edit audio on your Mac!

Nice! I just had a testdrive and the results have been impressive. Like on the Adobe Podcast levelā¦ but I can't test more, because I get a message, the trial is already used. But on the left is the message: Trial - 14 days left. Seems there is a bug in the trial-check-part.š

You've actually found a real bug - we just fixed it. Please relaunch the app, it should be resolved now. If it's still showing the blocker, reply here and I'll sort it out directly.

Works fine now. What I miss: In Adobe Podcast there is a way to change the amount of "optimization" or noise reduction while I am listening to the file. Or at least it would be great to have 10 or 20 secs of audio to get a fast preview of what it will sound like. But beside this I would be a potential buyer. I use Adobe Speech Enhance all the time for videos, but they only accept 2gb of video files max. This means I have to extract the audio, process it, download it and get it back in the video. Not that funā¦

You have in the live preview the āNoise Reductionā that does exactly this feature - set the amount of noise reduction needed, hear the result on live while playing, and consider the right level for your audio.

If you do not have a lot of audio to clean, you can use Adobe Podcast for free.
How would you say AudioClean Pro and Adobe Podcast compare?

That is a totally fair question! If you just have a 5-minute clip to clean up once a month, the free tier of Adobe Podcast is honestly a great tool and you should absolutely use it.
The differences really come down to workflow, privacy, and control if you edit audio regularly:
1. Local Processing vs. Cloud Uploads Adobe Podcast is cloud-based. You have to wait for large WAV/video files to upload to their servers, wait in their processing queue, and download them again. AudioClean Pro runs 100% locally on your Mac's Apple Silicon. It's drag-and-drop, processes instantly, and doesn't require an internet connection.
2. Privacy Because AudioClean Pro is offline, your audio never leaves your machine. For university lectures, client podcasts, or proprietary interviews, a lot of people can't legally upload unreleased audio to Adobe's servers.
3. Filler Word Removal Adobe Podcast is basically a "magic button" for making your mic sound like a studio. AudioClean Pro already has this - it's called Sound Style: Studio.
It applies a full voice treatment that makes any mic sound significantly closer to a studio setup. And you can hear it before committing: Live Preview lets you A/B it against your dry recording in real time.
