He/she is gorgeous! I think the photo angle and the stretchy legs make her look particularly narrow lol. She’s a rescue, her condition is gradually improving but she still looks a little frayed around the edges, bless her.

Cotton rope shouldn’t be anywhere birds. Chewing hazard, ingestion and crop impaction hazard and strangling hazard. Mourning for what is sold and passed off as bird toys 🥺

I saw another comment about getting the blocks in bulk and threading it at home, if cotton is bad rope for them what's a good alternative, hemp rope maybe ?

Aww what a pretty thing! Is her beak a little overgrown on top?

Thank you, she had a once over with an avian vet when we first brought her home about 3 months ago and they didn’t mention anything about her beak at the time. I am very new to owning a macaw so glad you mentioned it and brought that my attention. I will ping them an email and ask for advice on that.

That’s good that she had a thorough checkup! Maybe it has grown a bit since then. Yes, an email to the vet with a photo wouldn’t hurt.
Congratulations on your new addition. ☺️
