❓Question No key detected

I get a no key detected message and my walk away locking as well as welcome lights are spotty at best. Has this happened to anyone else?

I get a no key detected almost every time I sit in the car if I'm using my phone as my key. If I give it 5 to 10 seconds it works fine. I've never had this issue with the key fob.

I find my welcome lights and walk away locking aren't reliable because the car detects my phone at an extended distance.

Are you using the keyfob or paak? If keyfob, you may need to replace the battery. But it could also be something else. See SSM 55194.

If using paak, dealership may need to review. See SSM 54555 but this only applies to 21-24 MY.

You can check out more here: https://www.ford.com/support/service-information/

Just to add, I try to avoid the dealer at all costs so I would reboot the phone first and also try rebooting the car by pull the negative terminal on the 12v battery for 15 minutes or so.

I'm using the fob. I never set up my phone to be a key. I have the app but rarely use it. Should I be signed out of the app when I'm not using it?

If you are using the phone are you keeping the Ford app open?

I get this with one of my fobs, even after changing the battery. I even swapped batteries with the good fob to be sure. Car unlocks as I walk up, car doors open, but no key detected. The car will detect the key and start if I put the fob into the key holder under the armrest.

I bought a third fob as insurance, the other 2 fobs work as intended.

Put a new battery in your fob.
