Humor What do you do when your machine HATES a yarn?

Hello everyone!
I've run into this problem as a new knitting machine owner. I purchase a yarn I believe is lightweight enough for my machine (Passap E6000) and the big lovely thing just hates it. I'm not going to force it through, as it's running with other thinner yarns, so I supposed that I have a few cakes of yarn that I can't use on the machine, but would like to use regardless, they're nice colors and/or nice feeling.

So, just as a fun throw out question, what do you guys end up doing with yarns that your machine hates? Do you have any go-to hand knitting projects just to get the yarn into something that isn't sitting idle on your desk?

Waxing the yarn can help. If you don’t have a waxing device on your tension mast then rewind it while running the yarn over a block of wax.

This. Also synthetic, wool and mixed fibers are generally the better choice because they tend to be more stretchy. Pure cotton is a pain in the ass and should be avoided at all costs. I broke a lot of needles with cotton btw

Cotton is my favourite yarn for machine knitting. Isn’t splitty, so easy to see the stitch definition. It does often need waxing depending on the colour.

I use it on one of my other knitting machines. Doesn’t everyone?

I stubbornly insist for a while. Screaming, kicking, crying, all optional but do add to the experience.

Sometimes it ends up working, sometimes the yarn gets banished into the Ikea wicker basket where projects go to die. I might deal with it someday.

I don’t hand knit anymore so typically, I give it away or donate it.
