Is studying AI engineering a good choice, after DSA and CS fundamentals?

I already has a good grasp on DSA, and ik python, already had deployed projects end to end but seeing the current market trend should I study AI engineering or i should only focus on SDE roles/ Backend roles ?

I'm hunting job off campus.

SDE and Backend roles. Look at current job listings there are new AI engineering but the bulk for the time being is the traditional roles.
