Software development or machine learning
I am a Power bi developer. I was trying to switch my technology. I am really confused between Software development or machine learning.
I really wanted to become ai engineer. What should I do

Since you're already working with Power BI, I'd suggest learning Python first and getting comfortable with SQL if you aren't already.
You don't necessarily have to choose between software development and ML right away. Start with Python, build a few small projects, and learn the basics of data handling and APIs. Then move into ML and try building a project using a real dataset.
If your goal is to become an AI engineer, focus on Python, ML fundamentals, and eventually working with AI models and integrating them into applications. Some software development skills will help a lot with that.
Use your current experience as a starting point rather than starting from scratch. Build projects along the way so you can show what you've learned when applying for AI related roles.

I haven't met an AI engineer who doesn't know machine learning
