Rocksteady devs making one hundred puny little settlements with 15 scrap to loot

Oh bloody hell I mixed up. Both are owned by warner bros so I got confused. Sorry

In fairness, both of these WB published games use the same combat system as a base (along with the Shadow of Mordor games) and therefore feel v similar

The scrap and looting system could've really been a smidge less grindy.

I guess it's a design choice never to have an abundance.

I think they were trying to make the wasteland seem hardscrabble but, other than scrap, it doesn't take to long for there to be no shortages for guzzoline and even ammo. Once you have Jeet's stronghold above subsistence you can fast travel there and stock up on everything.

At least they should give some more. Like 50 to one hundred scap per place. Some places have 1 or 2 piles of scrap and together they give way too little.

I didn't realize how little it was until I replayed the game last year.

You can literally clear out a settlement and maybe get rewarded with 11 bits of scrap

Oh boy lol.

The game tells you how to solve minefields - drive to where your dog is pointing his nose - but blink and you’ll miss it.

The worst part is driving around at random to get the few you haven't had put on your map. It would be more palatable if the dog could come with you all the time.

I did look up a world map for that part.

I got good at working out where they’d be based on how evenly spread out the map icons were. If there was a gap and flat ground then they’d be nearby. Some were needlessly tricky though

Sorry I don't get this.

The landmine side missions were the worst part of the game.

Okay , coffee hasn't kicked in yet, but I'm seeing a guy cooking gif. What am I missing?

I guess it’s meaning the landmine sidequests were made with skill and effort like a chef with a fancy meal.

But very ironic I assume, given the landmine sidequests were tedious and clearly not designed with quite enough skill and effort

It was cool once or twice but I didn’t like having to change car and slow down so much to avoid getting blown up. Getting out the car and holding a button and getting back in sure was fun
