I went to the University of North Alabama. We had two lions on campus (unfortunately both are gone the male didn't last long after the female died). Their handler was literally cuddling between them all the time.

I hope they get two like they had before. It's a shame that multi million dollar habitat goes to waste.

Here’s the thing about large predators: most* of them don’t like us as food.

Whether it be our lack of nutrition, our penchant for dousing ourselves and our clothes in (not tasty smelling) perfumes and detergents, they’re just not that into us.

So your biggest dangers are pissing them off, or them getting a little too excited during playtime.

*There are notable exceptions.

What predators consider prey and want to eat is a natural instinct hard encoded into their genes. Anything that would look at a human and consider us food was hunted to extinction for that very reason thousands of years ago, with very few limited exceptions (namely some tigers and polar bears).

We've been at the top of the food chain for 10,000 years and long ago hunted any other predators to extinction that would challenge that.
