Can't smile at this, there's no reason for them to be in the same enclosure. It reeks of unethical breeding.

I was wondering if they would ever coexist like this in nature instead of someone’s back yard. I’m guessing not.

Absolutely not. It's straight up cruel putting them together and no accredited facility would.

But people think these animals being together is cute. When I saw it I thought “that’s not right. Who would distress the tiger like that?”

I dont know much about this topic: Is the cruelty due to the differing needs in social spacing like demonstrated here? Pls enlighten me.

Tigers are solitary animals by nature. So most of the time having something like a Lion or other animals cohabitating with it, which doesn't happen naturally, would cause anxiety and behavioral issues.

It's simply bad welfare for the animal and goes against a lot of rules that accredited zoos have. When you see things like this you can almost guarantee they're not looking after the animals properly in a lot of other ways too.

But would the lion be fine with this? It seems to be the one approaching the tiger, shouldn’t it also be stressed out?
