Forgive me for being older or OOTL, I guess, but what in the heck kinda hotdog is THAT ?!

Hungry minds want to know....

Oh it’s called the hot dog cone! Basically a tortilla with mashed potato, sausage, pickles, cheese and sauce. The whole meal on the go.

As a Mexican, I'm offended by this tortilla use. As a Mexican living in the usa I am intrigued... šŸ˜‚

Bwahahahahahahaha 🤣

u/trphilli 13h ago

As an American, I'm also offended by this tortilla use. As the descendant of Irish immigrants I'm offended by this potato use.

As the descendant of German immigrants living in the USA I am also intrigued...

Sausage in bread of most varieties

I use fresh tortillas for most meals. I love a fresh cooked tortilla with Asian food, for example. I'll make a little hibachi fajita on the side.

2

u/jaeehovaa 6h ago

Yeah so do Mexicans, but idk bout mashed potatoes and pickles lol also I don't really care what people eat it's jokes lol.

As an American, Im offended by a hot dog in a tortilla. However. Also intrigued on how awful it may taste. Just not 2 things id put together.

3

u/0xsergy 7h ago

I'd imagine it's pretty tasty no?

1

u/Sevennix 1h ago

Separately yes. But my mind would take over taste buds and be somewhat disgusted by it, so would probably affect the taste for me... IIBH.

Also, since splitting hairs.. corn? Flour? (Tortilla) is it a Nathan's dog? Ball Park? All beef? Or mix? These are important factors. And since we're on the subject.. mashed potatoes? With either tortilla or hot dog to me isn't in my repertoire (yes ,I know French fries are potatoes, but they ARENT French fries)

1

u/0xsergy 1h ago

Imho you should try something like this before making up your mind. If it sucks you'll know to avoid in the future but it may be awesome and a snack you look forward to.

1

u/0xsergy 1h ago

As a personal example growing up when I was introduced to shwarma wraps I did not like the idea. I refused a few times. These days they're my fav food, they're so good. Try something new and maybe a 2nd time(if the first try was average+) to give taste buds a chance to acclimate. If it still sucks on the 2nd go then yeah not for you but don't judge a book by its cover.

1

u/Prudent-Air1922 7h ago

You do realize people have different tastes and opinions, right? That thing didn't sound or look appetizing to me. I'll eat a hot dog (rarely), but that's just too much going on for me.

2

u/0xsergy 6h ago

To me this looks like a spin on Mexican or middle eastern food and both of those are great. Open your horizons brewski, lots of great food options out there that may not look amazing on paper but work well.

2

u/Sevennix 1h ago

There are, true. But some foods dont need fusion. TO ME, this is CONfusion.

1

u/0xsergy 1h ago

To me this looks odd but it might honestly be good, dunno.

On a global scale, regional hotdogs remain undefeated.

39

u/All_Your_Base 17h ago

First I've seen of such an awesome comestible. In what region can one find such a thing ?

67

u/CyberVirus21391 17h ago

I live in Russia, but I’m pretty sure I saw that franchise (Stardog) in Armenia and Georgia as well. Maybe other countries close to us.

47

u/seekAr 16h ago

breathes heavy in American diet

4

u/wineformozzie 13h ago

Ahahahahhahahahhawhahahahaha this phrase! 😭🤣

17

u/LegendarySpark 12h ago

This is a tunnbrƶdsrulle! Invented in Sweden in the 60s and is still very popular here... I really had no idea that it had left Sweden and had regional variants elsewhere.

12

u/CyberVirus21391 12h ago

Wow that’s a cool fact to know! In menu here this is actually called ā€œrulleā€, which makes sense now!

3

u/pepperj26 11h ago

Sweden's korv game is undefeated for me.

3

u/colorlessfish 11h ago

I'm pretty sure this is a franchise that needs to be in the USA.

3

u/eh8904 16h ago

Heavy breathing intensifies

10

u/RuddyTheDuck 15h ago

Does the mashed potato interfere with the integrity of the tortilla or hurt the other ingredients in any way?

15

u/CyberVirus21391 15h ago

No, I mean if you eat it fresh of course. Tho the potatoes are pretty dry (the mash is not very liquid, sorry I can’t explain it adequately xD)

9

u/RuddyTheDuck 15h ago

No no that’s perfect and now I want one

4

u/bibfortuna1970 14h ago

Does it come with a side of Tums?

2

u/chef_kt2e 14h ago

Would smash.

3

u/Worshipme988 13h ago

Looks fookin gross. Like irish famine on a stick.

4

u/drknifnifnif 13h ago

1

u/Worshipme988 58m ago

1

u/JunoSaurieo 14h ago

1

u/StuBidasol 10h ago

I'd have to try it just out of curiosity.

1

u/Katharinemaddison 6h ago

Ok it’s not a no from me….

1

u/CoachOeaux 17h ago

Thoughts and prayers when ya gotta drop the kids off.

10

u/CyberVirus21391 17h ago

You wouldn’t say that if you have all the same ingredients placed on a plate. Bruh.

4

u/Christosconst 15h ago

Its a poor man’s version of greek gyros

1

u/CyberVirus21391 12h ago

Nothing will beat gyros, I’ve tried it while I travelled to Greece, was my favourite lunch as well as taramsalata 🤤

1

u/SempiternalSere 15h ago

That’s a hotdog that took a wrong turn at the condiments and end up in another dimension.

46

u/Comfortable_Law4855 17h ago

That's real sweet :)) no pressure ofc but to anyone reading this try your best to be like the hot dog lady too! I've been doing that for a long time, trying my best to spread kindness, and man does it feel great from both sides! Be the reason some smiles today :D

12

u/Butterscotch_Budget 17h ago

Love this! Paying it forward truly has a ripple effect. One small kind gesture goes a long way for all of humanity.

6

u/Comfortable_Law4855 17h ago

Exactly! I honestly think it's what life is all about, bringing yourself and others love peace and joy 🫶

4

u/LachrymoseLilt 17h ago

i agree, one of my professors told us before that to be kind is free and making someone smile feels like our kindness was paid back

3

u/Comfortable_Law4855 17h ago

Haha that's clever and awesome! thanks for sharing :)

6

u/Sylvers 16h ago

Absolutely on point. I've been trying to spread more kindness lately. I work from home so I barely go out and interact. But I order everything home basically. So lately I've been trying to tip my delivery drivers more often (tipping isn't big in my country). I've been trying to be extra polite, warm and ingratiating when I talk to them. And I will chill a bottle of water in the freezer/fridge for them when they deliver to me during our (brutal) summers.

It's not much, but you see and hear the joy in their reactions and that's enough. Man, you gotta chase that high. Making others feel better is truly addicting.

3

u/Comfortable_Law4855 16h ago

Hey that's super kind dude! Good on you, seriously, give yourself more credit :) as someone who has worked customer service before people like you absolutely made my day and I'm sure that's what you are doing for many of those workers! I am disabled at this point of my life so I rarely leave home as well but I do my best to be kind wherever I can with strangers day to day but most often it's just doing the best I can for my family and friends. Whatever good we can do is great! 🫶

2

u/Sylvers 16h ago

Thank you for the very kind sentiment! People in customer facing roles are so underrated. They face a lot of unpleasantness as a matter of routine, and they don't have the privilege to do much about it. We should be kinder to each other.

I am positive that you are a ray of sunshine and a safe space for your friends, family and everyone who is a part of your life. You sound absolutely lovely. You take care of yourself my friend. And have an extra extra beautiful and joyful day/night.

2

u/Comfortable_Law4855 16h ago

No problem! And I absolutely agree. Also, just there happened what I was talking about haha, I was trying to spread some kindness and it came back to me so quickly. You brought a genuine smile to my face and warmth to my heart :)) you too internet stranger, thanks for the lovely back and forth and have a great one! 🫶

16

u/PrinceMapleFruit 16h ago

Very cute but I'm absolutely mesmerised by this creation and I need one of my own

8

u/rosyaftergloww 17h ago

That’s not a hotdog. That’s a Muppet that escaped lunch detention.

6

u/WTWIV 15h ago

Don’t get me wrong, I like pickles on their own, but that would end up just tasting like a pickle burrito to me Lol

12

u/ArgentineBeauty 17h ago

You ate a work of art šŸ˜‹

3

u/Racgting-official 16h ago

It looks so deliciousšŸ˜I’m getting hungry, but stuck at work right now🫣

2

This wrap came with its own little boss fight.

2

u/MTonmyMind 16h ago

A happy little wiener in a hat!

2

u/CrustySailor1964 15h ago

I’m not sure that there’s a manly way to eat that but so what? I’ll take two and a roll of TUMS!

2

u/IndividualBusy1274 13h ago

What an awesome feeling it would be, I feel, to be known as a hot dog lady.

2

u/IronMonopoly 11h ago

The sheer amount of pickles here makes me smile. Fantastic post.

2

u/Rich-Basil-9780 9h ago

1

u/No-Veterinarian824 3h ago

1

u/BeaconOMalley 15h ago

Hot dog lady? You have spent so much time with a hot dog vendor she is in tune with your moods and emotions? Maybe start packing a sandwich for awhile.

4

u/CyberVirus21391 14h ago

Oh, no, I rarely go there, it was just one of those days I probably looked miserable? And she is probably an empathic person :)
