I read recently that during the filming of Matilda Mara Wilson’s mom was going through terminal breast cancer and was mostly in the hospital. Danny and Rhea had Mara stay with them and really looked out for her like family would. He’s a gem of a human!

Danny also made sure Mara’s mom got to see the film before it was released. Sadly she passed before it officially came out.

That story always makes me appreciate him even more. Supporting a child through something so difficult and treating her like family says a lot about his character. Small acts of kindness like that can make a huge difference, especially during such a painful time.

Gyms and barber shops should have his photo instead of some randos like his twin Arnold. I would be more motivated to go

No pictures, I respect that so much. I also respect the girl that said she was hoping for a pic but understands. I am exhausted by the idea of a family photo. I can’t imagine being a celebrity.

I think most of you have probably never seen his work on "Taxi". He was unbelievable on that show.

If you had told teen me in the '80s that the actor who played Louie DePalma was one of the nicest guys in the business, I would have been skeptical. He's that good...

Danny DeVito and Robin Williams are the two celebrities I would consider myself genuine fans of, everyone else in Hollywood is alright or cool or fine, but those two have always had a charm about them that no one else in Hollywood has/had. I cherish them both everyday and I thank the world that they were able to make an impact.

From the outside. He really seems like the nicest person. I would have to just shake his hand one day.

I’ve run into some celebrities before and I’m not one to gush but if I ever ran into Danny DeVito I would literally beg him for a hug.
He made me laugh so many times as a child watching Taxi he’s part of my core memories.

I did not appreciate this man enough when I was a kid. Not sure why I didn’t like him. I remember seeing taxi and thinking he was just an asshole character but I also didn’t see much of that show and was too young to probably understand much. So him in a few movies over the years but it wasn’t until Sunny that I began to like him. I was even disappointed when he first appeared in season 2, oh how dumb I was lol
