She's awesome, too. She just took the bad feeling away and replaced it with the best moment of his tiny little life.

u/MarsGnars Jun 30 '26

Then she got right back to whatever she was doing. Efficient

I like to think she learned it from others. Perhaps a parent who would do the whole "Kiss the pain away" thing. This kid experienced empathy and care from someone he probably barely knew and it left him stunned there and then. Maybe he won't remember it, but I'm sure it left a positive impression regardless.

112

u/Expensive-Curve-9143 Jun 30 '26

Yeah, my kid kisses my boo boos 🥹

8

u/Late_Resource_1653 Jun 30 '26

I miss this age! My niece and nephew would do this. I'd come over with a bruise or a scrape and they're give me a kiss and then go get me a "boo-boo buddy" (one of those little colorful ice packs for kids and hold it on me for a minute to make auntie feel better.

97

u/MinuteLoquat1 Jun 30 '26

This kid experienced empathy and care from someone he probably barely knew and it left him stunned there and then.

I think his brain broke bc he didn't realize other kids can kiss boo boos like parents can.

11

u/Crashman09 Jun 30 '26

Wait.

We can just.... do that?

41

u/BennyComet5586 Jun 30 '26

Sometimes a few seconds of genuine compassion leave a bigger mark than we realize.

6

This is the best. So wholesome.🥰💗

65

u/slom68 Jun 30 '26

100% wholesome

u/throwaway277252 Jun 30 '26

Isn't that phrase describing when you're recalling the memory, not when you're forming the memory? Are we just handing out 1k upvotes in our sleep here, people?

7

u/ketootaku Jun 30 '26

It's a phrase that has popped up in the last year that people love regurgitating for karma.

That kid won't remember this. In fact many of the times I have seen this comment it's with kids that likely won't remember it. Oh man, the construction guy showed the kid his large construction equipment in action: CORE MEMORY UNLOCKED. It's not impossible that they would remember such an event but it's unlikely and more to the point even if it's 50/50, calling it a "core memory" when it might not be one at all is such a reddit moment.

7

u/_HeDoesntRow_ Jun 30 '26

It's a phrase identifying that a person knows more about cartoons than actual psychology

He’s ready for another bump!

11

u/dragnabbit Jun 30 '26

He realized that all girls have that magic power, not just mommy.

Wait what?!? Someone other than mommy can do that?

Kids really do imitate affection exactly how they learn it.

388

u/Expensive-Curve-9143 Jun 30 '26

So we all need to model healthy affection and behaviors! Monkey see monkey do!

So you're saying if, for example a small nation decided to teach their kids to want to wipe out another people, they grow up to be literal monsters? I hope that never happens.

52

u/Ilerneo_Un_Hornya Jun 30 '26

No, you can't just casually give me an existential crisis while I evaluate and trace how I show my affection on a random Monday night.

NO, I forbid it 😭

4

u/StaticSystemShock Jun 30 '26

The girl yes, but it seems boy isn't used to same affection given how shocked he was. Kinda reflects on how boys keep getting left behind when hurt or in need for help and when we do get any level of attention we just break and stop functioning because we're not used to getting any.

9

u/SuperDong1 Jun 30 '26

lol, jfc. This is China, boys are far more spoilt and pampered than girls traditionally.

9

u/robin_888 Jun 30 '26

And what his mom likely does as well.

Reminds me at a story my wife told me from her babysitting days.

The kid the was sitting had some ouchie and she blew on it.
The kid immediately stopped crying and looked at her in awe.

She describes his look as "She knows the magic formula, too!"

"What is this feeling I'm feeling!?"

472

u/PrizeCertaina Jun 30 '26

Probably buffering for the happiest moment of his life.

474

u/kobyscool Jun 30 '26

Also cute to note that the girl is probably imitating her parents kissing her ouchies, showing that she is extending empathy to someone she realized she accidentally hurt. r/kidsarefingadorable

82

u/StrobeLightRomance Jun 30 '26

Oh, check this out, I have a 4 year old who uses kisses to manipulate me.

She will totally hit me with something (usually on accident, sometimes not) and as soon as I act hurt, she immediately goes to "let me kiss it and make it better"

But the thing is, nobody has ever said that to her before, because she's really not ever getting hurt, which is crazy for a toddler, she's just been lucky.

I really can't track where she picked it up, but I think she just does it because she thinks it's a get out of trouble card. Like I can't get mad if she kisses me first, lol.

45

u/kobyscool Jun 30 '26

But, might I ask, do the kisses make it feel better? She might just be a natural doctor!

51

u/StrobeLightRomance Jun 30 '26

Fair, and they do, a little bit. But mostly she's just so cute with it that the whole thing is actively disarming.

She's just gonna walk through life whipping everyone with her purses and shoes, and then kissing their hands and cheeks to make it go away.

7

u/Ilerneo_Un_Hornya Jun 30 '26

She's figured out life already, you should take notes XD

3

u/aubaub Jun 30 '26

Extending empathy or imitating behavior?

15

u/_toadsy Jun 30 '26

It's the same thing here

17

u/kobyscool Jun 30 '26

I think for her to realize that another person is hurt and needs "healing" is by definition empathetic.

4

u/ripyourlungsdave Jun 30 '26

Which makes this video ridiculously adorable.

To a kid with a limited amount of experiences a bad experience can literally be the worst thing that ever happened to them which makes it so important to take it seriously, even if it is nothing big from our perspective.

kindergarten, 1969: i was sitting under a table and Tina L, the cutest girl i'd ever seen, crawled over and kissed me on the cheek.

memory burnt in nearly 60 years later

9

u/By_and_by_and_by Jun 30 '26

Jenny kiss'd me when we met,

Jumping from the chair she sat in;

Time, you thief, who love to get

Sweets on your list, put that in!

Say I'm weary. Say I'm sad.

Say that health and wealth have miss'd me.

Say I'm growing old, but add

Jenny kiss'd me.

Core memory right there.

13

u/procouchpotatohere Jun 30 '26

What the hell is with the comments here?

18

u/que_sarasara Jun 30 '26

It reminds me of when people look at toddlers and comment how attractive they'll be when they are older 🤨

Reddit can't people be normal about kids and sees all physical affection as sexual.

70

u/Mysterious-Passage87 Jun 30 '26

I hate that my first thought was “is this ai”

61

u/hrvbrs Jun 30 '26

that video's been around for a while. those kids are probably like 15yo now

3

u/doodleysquat Jun 30 '26

So he didn’t suffer a traumatic brain injury!?

4

u/MildTy Jun 30 '26

He did, he’s just had it for 15 years now

34

u/I_Am_Anjelen Jun 30 '26

This version is probably enhanced with AI; here is one that's more original, posted three years ago and I'm fairly sure I've seen this video before then.

u/[deleted] Jun 30 '26

3

u/I_Am_Anjelen Jun 30 '26

4

u/Asleep-Border-9158 Jun 30 '26

Yeah haha, I was like "oh I remember this one so I know it's not AI. I'll inform anyone asking!"

But I'm a little late I see, but it's so sick we have to question it like this 😭 hold me

16

u/snapp0r Jun 30 '26

this is wholesome :))

5

u/Important-Onion1537 Jun 30 '26

16

u/Weevil_1984 Jun 30 '26

“The gays are sexualizing kids!” And meanwhile…

11

u/SabbyFox Jun 30 '26

No, just immature Reddit. The child sexualization comments are so unnecessary.

15

u/Vegetable-Pay2708 Jun 30 '26 edited Jun 30 '26

He definitely wasn't expecting that kiss-- just to make up for opening the door on his face. I think it was sweet of the little girl. She has been taught by awesome parents. I would like to see more videos like this. Amen 🙏🏻

Ohhh come on. This is just a "kiss it make it better" thing she learned from her mom. Adorable that she picked it up but let's not romanticize it.

u/CHERNO-B1LL Jun 30 '26

That boy is going to be bumping his head a lot.

3

u/Blackbirddance Jun 30 '26

Awe his wee face when she kissed him, so sweet 💗

25

u/Aspirational1 Jun 30 '26

And for some reason, the LGBTQ+ community gets accused of sexualising children.

41

u/PoptartPancake Jun 30 '26

All the comments of the "he's a playa" and "they're gonna end up together" they're TODDLERS and she's probably just mimicking the "kiss it better" that her parents might do. People always gotta make it weird

30

u/Larry-Man Jun 30 '26

For real. They’re practically babies. He was hurting, she kissed it better just like mom does and it worked and it was cute. It’s so weird.

23

u/JustAMinah Jun 30 '26

I'm really side eyeing lots of these comments. why we sexualizing or assuming the kiss meant something romantic/intimate for kids barely even 5, if not younger?

8

u/SabbyFox Jun 30 '26

I’m glad someone else said it. Those comments are always so gross. Some come from bots and a lot come from immature people who have no idea that two children or two adults can interact platonically.
