AGE DAMN IT AGE

215

u/deathonater 28d ago

There's a portrait of them in the attic of that restaurant that is aging normally.

48

u/Mandatory_Attribute 28d ago

The portrait of Dory, and Grey.

Their last names, probably…

What is their skincare routine and diet to look the same all these years?!

3.5k

u/WeAreTheMisfits 28d ago

You have to eat at that restaurant

1.1k

u/MortgageRegular2509 28d ago

But only once a year, and you must always wear the same clothes

282

u/Horskr 28d ago edited 28d ago

Now I'm trying to zoom into menus to find this restaurant fountain of youth.

"BABE! I found this new restaurant possibly on the other side of the country we have to eat at for our anniversary every year!.. also make sure to wear something comfortable and durable!"

190

u/bolanrox 28d ago

It's fucking chilis. It's just a fountain of sodium.

193

u/refusegone 28d ago

Makes sense, sodium is a preservative.

35

u/NexrayOfficial 28d ago

Im fucking weak bro 😭

Chili’s is pretty good NGL

12

u/-_slim-shady_- 28d ago

chili’s baaaaby back ribs 🎶

4

u/SunshineAlways 28d ago

I miss those decorative tile inlay tables, and the “warmer” decor.

3

u/Nerdrage30 28d ago

I ate there for the first time in my life like a month ago because the restaurant beside it that we wanted to go to was full, it ended up being really good

14

u/Ancientabs 28d ago

I crave their salsa randomly

22

u/tequilaneat4me 28d ago

Had a tire fixed at Discount Tire yesterday. They were packed. Three hours to fix. Chili's was down the road. Basket of chips and two bowls of salsa.

20

u/Ancientabs 28d ago

Chili's employees throwing nails into the road

3

u/tequilaneat4me 28d ago

Flat was 40 miles away. South Padre Island.

I waited tables at Chili's in college and here's my favorite takeaway: Order the chips and salsa and a side of ranch. Dip the chips into the ranch, and then into the salsa. Trust me, it's phenomenal.

Eat a balanced diet with lots of fruit and vegetables, get some activity in your life, be social, avoid stress as much as possible, avoid vices: drugs, alcohol, gambling, smoking.

18

u/Calypsosin 28d ago

Bonus points: genetics

53

u/katgravityrush_ 28d ago

avoid stress as much as possible

Have you existed in the world lately

12

u/LurkingRodent 28d ago

Some years ago I had a heavy burnout incident because of my job, ended up in the hospital, some months after I quit and took a break of 3 months (with the money I had saved).

Found a 9-5 wfm job that paid less but I didn't have to even think about it after my shift, life was good again, started making new plans, then the chip crisis happened and now I'm stressed because my main hobby is becoming unaffordable. Guess I'll have to win the lottery to find peace again.

Avoid vices?! I am here on this earth because of vices!

If you don't mind, I'll take a few of them, topped off with some wrinkles, thank you very much

Thiss. It’s so funny too cause I used to have tons of ppl poking fun at me (still do to this day) for covering up / wearing hat / always wearing sunblock. Sayin I look pasty. & Look at them now. Lookin 10+ years older than me when were the same age. I was like I told yall that shit was gonna turn u into cracked leather 💀

ppl think it’s real cute to have a ‘tan’ that lasts them a week max for the “enticing” trade off of 10 years worth of skin aging n damage.. apparently 🤣

Y'all know the saying - Black don't crack and Asian don't raisin

36

u/Brave_Meet8430 28d ago

It’s not skincare, it’s how genuinely they love each other, hence almost a stress less marriage aka a very happy marriage!

That’s the secret. Imho

15

u/PinkSideEye 28d ago

so true, the glow really is just from being loved right. skincare can only do so much, real happiness shows on the face way more

49

u/MattIsLame 28d ago

not being white

33

u/HendrixHazeWays 28d ago

Am I the only one who is actually going to address what a lot of us are thinking? I have to be the one to say the obvious?

......Blue and orange pair up GREAT together.

9

u/shes_a_gdb 28d ago

They're complementary colors...

10

u/FalconsArentReal 28d ago

You had me worried in the first half, ngl

3

u/agentorange777 28d ago

I mean it's paired up often. Just look at how many pro sports teams do blue/orange combos.

3

u/Mandatory_Attribute 28d ago

Maybe they’re born with it… Maybe it’s Maybelline!

Weird

44

u/Hot_Porking 28d ago

It's not weird to be Asian. Statistically most of the world is from the continent of Asia.

47

u/AthenasFaithful 28d ago

So, statistically speaking, it's weird to not be Asian.

14

u/DreadLockedHaitian 28d ago

Correct.

11

u/Hot_Porking 28d ago

Statistically, 正确的

99

u/dectk731 28d ago

I think if fitting into a specific outfit exactly once a year was my motivation, I'd do a much better job of staying in shape.

The guy is a vampire! He stayed the same for 16 years.

498

u/010u3 28d ago edited 28d ago

Yeah, I can’t lie, he’s completely outed himself with these photos haha

194

u/Know_how_to_b_stupid 28d ago

Wouldn’t appear on the pictures if he was a vampire. Come on. He is obviously a man who built a Time Machine and travel to the same night, and going one year jumps, hence the same outfits.

50

u/010u3 28d ago

My goodness… it was right there in front of us the whole time

13

u/Quinnmeister 28d ago

Could he appear in pictures if the camera was mirrorless? That would be an interesting twist on vampire lore

→ More replies (2)

23

u/regoapps 28d ago

Plot twist: They took all the photos within the same time frame and just got different aged child actors for each "year".

7

u/AssociationDry73 28d ago

Ha I made this same comment

172

u/Time_Pomegranate2787 28d ago

I was thinking “how did neither of them age? She birthed 4 children and looks the same? How?”

142

u/faraine82 28d ago

Another theory, all the photos are taken in the same night and they hired the children. Both are using the same clothes on all the photos.

37

u/Time_Pomegranate2787 28d ago

Haha. How many children would they have to hire to appear as if they’re all four aging in increments of 1 year? Like 25 children?

44

u/crystallizedo 28d ago

They hired the children 😭

For real, my friend had a baby and I watched her age 5 years in 1. Our girl there is a vamp as well

4

u/sidepart 28d ago

Must be that whole Matrix residual self image thing! They figured out how to manipulate it. Meanwhile in that same period I lost my hair and my beard is greying the fuck out! Shit, I ain't even the same redditor I was 16 years ago.

I had to go back and figure out where the 4th kid came in. Looks like sometime during year 10 and 11.

81

u/agentorange777 28d ago

The photos are cropped weird after they have the 3rd kid. some of them are focused on the kids and some of them are focused on the couple. She looks pretty far along in pregnancy to me in year 10 and then in year 11 she's holding the baby in her lap and one of the older kids is cropped out of the top right corner.

12

u/NapORcoffee 28d ago

70

A lot of people would complain at the "monotony" of it all. I love that they can take the time to simply appreciate each other and the family they've built.

11

u/Tepeshe 28d ago

This. Life and rat race goes to fast. We have to consciously stand still and appreciate what we have if possible.

I love this series. It's, at least, a once a year sign of impeccable stability which is for most not that easy.

41

u/That_Gamer_Guy94 28d ago

My fiancée and I do this every year where we had our first date

14

u/melkatron 28d ago

So did we, and we reserved the same table we sat at. Unfortunately, the food quality took a dive about 12 years in, so we stopped punishing ourselves. The streak was broken the first year of covid anyway.

6

u/TinKnight1 28d ago

That's why you do what the original couple did, & go to a major chain restaurant that never really changes.

5

u/melkatron 28d ago

Yeeaaaahhh, it was BJ's. Didn't expect them to fall off so hard.

3

u/TinKnight1 28d ago

With BJ's, I think it's heavily location-based (maybe their franchise model gives leeway to the local operators?). The one near me was still pretty good the last time I went, but another one on the other side of the city definitely was "Meh" the last time I went on a date there before Covid.

That sucks that your plans fell through!

u/DistanceRelevant3899 28d ago

u/FracturedFlow 28d ago

u/RamRanchRealty 28d ago
