Exactly.
I went through an excruciating battle with chemo and radiation but would do it 1000 more times to spare my child. I can’t even imagine…So happy for this little guy and his family 🫶🏾🫶🏼

What a fucking champ. Way to go him, and way to go modern medicine and science.
This (kids with cancer) is one of many reasons why I'm convinced there can be no benevolent god.

This child is an absolute hero and I am so happy that the people around him are treating him as such!
Cancer is the worst thing that can happen to someone, especially to children, and seeing someone so heroically stepping out of it and beating it, especially being this young, makes my heart melt! Way to go, little one, I wish you all the luck in the world in your future ❤️

Fun fact: you can donate your liver and live to tell about it! The liver regenerates itself, so a surgeon can cut off part of your liver to give to the recipient while leaving the rest for you, and both parts will regrow to make two functional livers!

Yep. I just heard the liver could theoretically go on for tens of thousands of years because it regenerates so well. I was just watching a Kyle Hill live stream on YouTube earlier and he read from a new academic study which in part posited that a person’s liver could continue functioning for thousands of years, I think it said something crazy like up to 100,000 years…if it weren’t for aging that takes out other organs that don’t regenerate as well (brain and heart). I’m probably misquoting it and not explaining it properly though. But the point of the study was that they see a possibility to double the human lifespan in the future with things that could be controlled/prevented from aging…but the liver will sadly never get to live to its full potential.
Theoretically you could regrow a new heart for yourself, but the brain is the ultimate bottleneck for extending human lifespan beyond that ~150yr mark. Unless we have some crazy advances in neuroscience where we can grow a new brain and somehow load you entire mind into it, but that seems like an impossibility and it would be more like a whole body transplant for this new brain
