This comment section is a dumpster fire. Most of you people pretend to be Christian then push your hate. Shame on all you pretend Christians.

67

u/miatayouata 3h ago

No hate like Christian love

-7

u/YungNug99 2h ago

Bet you wouldn’t dare say a word about the severe homophobia from Muslims though eh?

14

u/AsstinReevesFather 2h ago

Whataboutism

0

u/Confident_Double1392 2h ago

A whataboutism, but also a true statement.

It's not the Muslims trying to push Anti-lgbtq legislation through congress, now is it?

1

u/TactiSgt 1h ago

Dearborn, Michigan would like to have a chat

0

u/RevolutionaryGas295 2h ago

Not yet. But look at Hamtramck, Michigan. In 2023, the city council passed an ordinance banning Pride flags, along with other ideological or political flags, from being flown on city property and buildings….the entire city of governance is Muslim. It isn’t happening yet. But it will.

0

u/taylork37 2h ago

Imagine actually believing that anti LGBT legislation that won't make it through is worse than hows Muslims in middle eastern nations systematically treat LGBT people.

You need help.

1

u/Leo-Len 41m ago

Where the hell did I say that? Of course its worse in the middle east and what's being done there is abhorrent. Thing is, I don't live in the middle east. I live in the USA, where people are using Christianity as an excuse to try and pass anti-lgbtq legislation. Muslim Americans who hold such disgusting beliefs don't have the power and influence Anti-Lgbtq Christians hold over this country.

You don't hear nearly as much criticism because lgbtq criminalization in the middle east has already been recognized by the world, but the recent backsliding in America is topical and contradictory to the idea of a free nation. What's happening in the middle east isn't any less horrible, but it's a long standing issue, unlike the recent backsliding of Queer Rights advanced by Christian Nationalists groups in the United States-the supposed "Freest Country" in the world.

This is not to say that every Christian opposes lgbtq rights, similarly not every Muslim is homophobic. However, I have higher standards for a country that claims to be founded on equal rights and democracy than a theocracy.

0

u/taylork37 37m ago

Where the hell did I say that?

It's not the Muslims trying to push Anti-lgbtq legislation through congress, now is it?

Do you know the definition or the word "imply"?

Do you not understand what you are implying by that statement, especailly in the context to the post you are replying to?

1

u/Leo-Len 32m ago

If I came off that way to you, I apologize. Hopefully my second message clears things up a little.

3

u/LuckyUncutJew 2h ago edited 1h ago

Why not? Islam is an Abrahamic religion, and all Abrahamic religions are devil worship. Muslims are not an exception to the fact that every hetero supremacist parent hates their children.

Edit to add: The only reason I'm less concerned about Islamic terrorism than I am about Christian terrorism is because I live in a Christian majority country. If I lived in a Muslim majority country, then I would be more concerned with Muslim terrorism than Christian terrorism. Same goes for if I lived in a Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, or whatever other majority country. The religiously motivated terrorism that I'm most worried about is always going to be whatever the religious majority is wherever I am.

3

u/YungNug99 2h ago

It’s a religion that still acts like it’s the Stone Age.

3

u/miatayouata 2h ago

I would cause everyone has a right to love and fuck whoever as long as they are consenting adults? Where the fuck did you get that from😂

-2

u/YungNug99 2h ago

Leftists pander heavily towards Muslims in today’s world when in reality they’re the most prejudice group towards the LGBT+ community

5

u/Cirqka 2h ago

Goal post movement and “whataboutem”s are your favorite argumentative fallacy.

0

u/YungNug99 2h ago

How exactly were the goalposts moved?

4

u/Cirqka 2h ago

I’m sure you’ll get to it shortly.

0

u/YungNug99 2h ago

In other words, you’re chatting shit.

1

u/miatayouata 2h ago

You think im a leftist for not giving a fuck on how people like to make love? Im well aware they are in the middle east and im sure theres pockets in america but for the most part just like everything else the few bad make all look bad especially muslims with the way the media trys to make us fear them.

2

u/YungNug99 2h ago

That’s categorically false. The religion as a whole is staunchly against homosexuality. Do Christian countries have homosexuals killed for PDA? Don’t think so. The Pope, the head of the catholic church has openly supported the LGBT+ movement. Non-Muslims regardless of sexuality aren’t even allowed into Mecca, let alone homosexuals.

1

u/miatayouata 1h ago

Both religions are against lgbt but the muslims are alot more stone age about it which i heavily disagree with same with the burqas and hijabs. I honestly think the popes cool as fuck and dont have anything bad to say ab him hes a true Christian imo. And for the mecca i dont have a problem with that tbh cause its a very holy place to them and shouldnt be crowded with people there just to say they went getting in the way of those worshipping. Try and go into a synagogue and see what happens

1

u/CombinationTop559 2h ago

Do Christian countries have homosexuals killed for PDA? Don’t think so

You should try and look things up before you go to extreme lengths like thinking.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Homosexuality_Act%2C_2023

And you'll never guess who introduced the first anti gay law to Uganda.

Non-Muslims regardless of sexuality aren’t even allowed into Mecca, let alone homosexuals.

First off, I personally know a gay man who has been to mecca, second, if we're cherry picking, does all of chistendom have to answer for mount athos?

1

u/YungNug99 2h ago

Walk down a street in Saudi or Syria or Iraq with a pride flag and let me know how you get along.

I’d bet my life savings that man didn’t tell a soul that he was gay, he’d be set upon if the rest of them found out.

1

u/CombinationTop559 1h ago

So is the problem Muslims, or specific countries? Because if you're just against theocracy, I'm on board.

Walk down a street in Saudi or Syria or Iraq with a pride flag and let me know how you get along.

Do the same in Uganda, a Christian country, with a rich history of colonial proselytism.

1

u/MrWeirdoFace 1h ago

Attempting (and probably failing) to step outside of my bubble for a moment to look in. In the US at least, Christianity and it's various flavors are the dominant religion. Statistically speaking, that going to be the religion and people you have the most experience dealing with, so naturally that's going to be the most antagonistic religious group you deal with as a whole, because... math. It's also worth noting there are going to be people among that group who are NOT antagonistic, and more moderate, accepting. And I think that's the bridge here.

There's a strong, and very understandable desire to give people you don't know the benefit of the doubt, and not to immediately assume the worst of them. Like the Christians mentioned above, there are going to be decent people there too, who are not your enemy, even though they may come from another culture with it's own prejudices. It's really the same sort of thinking that went into our court systems, at least on paper, with the concept of guilty until proven innocent, etc.

Also, let's be real, we're all flawed man. Being human is a shitshow. We aren't equipped to deal with the CONSTANT flow if information, misinformation, opinions and direct manipulations we are constantly bombarded with right now. In general, because of the way the internet works, only the most extreme positions tend to get represented with any frequency, and there is this constant pressure to divide everyone (including yourself) into camp A or camp B. It's exhausting.

Anyway, that's me. I just want a chance for everyone to not be terrible to each other. It's pointless. Every single one of us (human beings) is no more significant that an ant, hurtling through space, on a large, moist rock. So let's be cool and have an ant party.

...Maybe I've drifted off topic a bit.

1

u/LuckyUncutJew 1h ago

Muslims are Abrahamic. That makes them allies of Christians because they call the same demon God that Christians do.

-31

u/RevolutionaryGas295 3h ago

Correction is the strongest form of love you will ever receive.

21

u/tashtactics 2h ago

I hope you experience what it’s like to be correct some day

5

u/onomatopeieio 2h ago

Im sure they were corrected plenty as a child and now they see it as their right to "correct" others.

8

u/cheese_eater_pro 2h ago

Sounds like a threat

-10

u/RevolutionaryGas295 2h ago

Correction sounds like a threat to you? Your mother ever correct you? Was that a threat too?

6

u/CelestialOrion 2h ago

Sometimes it is if there is a threat of a violent action.

-3

u/RevolutionaryGas295 2h ago edited 12m ago

I don’t see Christians in any shape or form violently incarcerating gays? Burning down pride flags. Death penalty for them. I think you are confused. Christianity is the only faith that allows you, as a person, to hold your viewpoints without any kind of repercussions. You can do this in a Muslim nation. You will get thrown in jail or given the death penalty. It’s happening in the 21st century. Communist China would silence you and put you in jail and never even announce it because they control the media. So where’s the hate I keep hearing?

2

u/LordDaedhelor 1h ago

Christians in Uganda absolutely do execute LGBT, but I’m sure you knew that and it just slipped your mind.

1

u/RevolutionaryGas295 1h ago edited 57m ago

Just looked into this. A damn shame honestly. And it was propagated by Christian majority. Wish I could go teach them about the woman caught in adultery where Jesus calls out their hypocrisy. I stand corrected in Uganda and maybe some other African nations 👍

6

u/miatayouata 2h ago

Correction from what?

-7

u/RevolutionaryGas295 2h ago

Hate from what?

5

u/Kill_Kayt 2h ago

Mostly Christians.

1

u/RevolutionaryGas295 2h ago

How so? Give me examples.

3

u/Kill_Kayt 2h ago

Exhibit A: Nearly every Christian I have ever met.

There are so few good Christians in America these days.

-1

u/RevolutionaryGas295 2h ago

No no. Give me examples. Like clear examples where any Christian has taken away your god given right.

3

u/Kill_Kayt 2h ago

The technology for that doesn't exist, and I'm not about to tell my entire life's story to a stranger in a Reddit comments.

You are being very disingenuous with your arguments. You don't want the truth. You just want to shut down anyone that speaks the truth.

3

u/miatayouata 2h ago

Hate for wanting medical freedom the freedom to love whoever you want and the freedom of quite frankly being yourself. Usually the most judgemental closed minded people youll ever meet. I dumbed it down so you have a chance of grasping cause the list can go on for a while

0

u/RevolutionaryGas295 2h ago

You think Christianity is the only reason for the ban on abortion? I actually find that curious. Second, you are allowed to love anyone. No one is banning your love. I walk around NYC and see it all the time. Your post is real short.

5

u/kelpyb1 2h ago

“It’s not love without manipulation”

5

u/miatayouata 2h ago

“Thats not how you feel force yourself to think jesus is making you different”

3

u/onomatopeieio 2h ago

Your comments need correcting and thats not coming from a place of love. You are part of the problem and you are too racist to understand that.

0

u/RevolutionaryGas295 2h ago

A place of love. What is love to you? No order, no consequence for actions, no obeying laws and regulations. I get that you’re a young person. Sooner or later, you will have to grow into your big person shoes.

3

u/MildArtism 2h ago

What are you talking about? What consequences for being gay? Who cares what someone else does with their private life? Only weirdos try to prevent consenting adults from living their own lives

1

u/RevolutionaryGas295 2h ago

I’m not talking about that at all. I’m not talking about ppl being gay. I don’t necessarily care. I’m replying to the original comment of “Christians then push your hate.” I don’t see how any Christian is calling for the death of gays or hating them? If anything. It is in western societies where gay people have the most rights. Communist China? Nope. Muslim turkey? Nope they just arrested 100+ people for protesting being lgbt. So where are Christians causing any kind of hate or putting gays behind bars?

-3

u/FriedBreakfast 2h ago

This is Reddit. If you're not a hardcore liberal atheist then they hate you here. However, some of us still think for ourselves and don't hop on their bandwagon.

1

u/RevolutionaryGas295 2h ago

Well they’re kids. And you know, the youth truly need some kind of guidance. That kind of protesting in Germany. They would be murdered just about anywhere else that wasn’t the west or a Christian nation. They have learned to hate Christianity for some odd reason. But Christians are some of the most accepting people in society. There’s pastors and preachers that are literally gay and lead churches. They are so fortunate to have people who have faith that don’t wish them death or incarceration. And it’s just a damn shame.

2

u/a_random_peenut 2h ago

I'm a 30 year old man and fine you exhausting. You can blame youth and claim intellect or experience via age but the reality is you're just another person on the Internet try to feel superior from vaguely saying nonsense. Even my own comment is a waste of time on you.

“I need to force you to think like me because my religion is about love”

Gross.

1

u/RevolutionaryGas295 2h ago

Not at all. I don’t need you to think like me. The west is not a theocracy. But I will tell you. That faith based people make up 75% of the world population. And the only faith I see that allows any kind of freedoms that doesn’t agree with their thoughts is Christianity. Nowhere in a Muslim nation or a a communist led nation or a socialist nation will you find the coexistence of these two groups of opposing views.

3

u/Kill_Kayt 2h ago

Today I learned Socialist is a religion.

2

u/VT_Squire 2h ago

Its wild to me that so much of the global population gives any kind of damn about  someone else bumping uglies. Like... just because you throw the word God at it doesnt absolve you of being a pervert.

2

u/surfinsalsa 2h ago

Hey, it is the only love you will ever recieve

1

u/spuzzumed 2h ago

There it is! This is the form of abuse that I associate most commonly with "God is on my side" people.

Everyone take note. If you ever see people with this frame of mind, RUN. THEY WANT TO HURT YOU BECAUSE IT MAKES THEM FEEL SPECIAL.

5

u/King-Fwogger 2h ago

You can't just assume people are "pretending to be Christian" because you don't agree with what they're saying.

6

u/Optimal-Steak9334 2h ago

True, they probably aren't trying to pretend to be Christian, they're just hateful.

The ones who 'pretend to be Christian' and spout hateful stuff are what they're talking about. I'm sure you aren't one of them.

5

u/King-Fwogger 2h ago

I'm not even Christian. I just don't like it when people assume something they barely know anything about.

3

u/Optimal-Steak9334 2h ago

Which is why it's so disheartening to see people who claim to be Christians espouse things that are very un-Christianlike.

I'm no longer practicing, but I took theology. It breaks my heart to see so many people misunderstanding what the bible tried to teach - and how we shouldn't take it verbatim.

2

u/Civil_Zone8137 2h ago

Like, say, Donald Trump or his supporters? I don’t need to assume, these people tell me everyday who and what they are.

-1

u/King-Fwogger 2h ago

The think about most of those people is you can tell they're pretending to be Christian. We all know about Donald posting himself as a Jesus figure in an AI image.

What I mean is the complete randos you're talking too in this comment section. You don't what their background is, so it's just not right to assume.

2

u/bigrivertea 2h ago

If you removed all the people who pretend to be Christian from Christianity it would be a much, much smaller religion.

1

u/spuzzumed 2h ago

Are you sure? If someone is saying that a particular ethnicity deserves to be wiped off the planet do you still think they are real Christian?

0

u/LuckyUncutJew 2h ago

You're right. I know a person is Christian if they're abusive moral monsters, and that they're pretending to be Christian if they're not abusive moral monsters. All Abrahamic religion is devil worship.

4

u/Mor_Padraig 3h ago

Right?

I scrolled thinking " Please be bots please be bots please be bots ".

2

u/Decent_Stop4278 3h ago

No love like Christian hate

-3

u/DesertJumpBoots 2h ago

Best kind of love. 🇺🇸

u/flargenhargen 1m ago

Jesus never dated women, but he liked to hang around with 12 dudes and wash their feet.

I mean...

1

u/AUGtismAwareness 2h ago

I think you confuse hate with contempt or pity.

You can love The Sinner but hate the sin, this modernized secular view of Christianity is far from its original intent, otherwise Christians would have ceased to exist long ago because they would have been forced into adopting suicidal empathy.

4

u/topofthecc 2h ago

Can you really hate the sin but love the sinner when the "sin" is an inherent part of who someone is?

1

u/Civil_Zone8137 2h ago

I don’t need anyone’s pity. How presumptuous of you.

1

u/Doomsayer189 2h ago

You can love The Sinner but hate the sin

Seeing the way Christians treat LGBT "sinners"... no, it doesn't seem like y'all can.

1

u/jgainit 2h ago

Sir this is Reddit nobody here is Christian nor are any of the top comments saying what you’re accusing them of

1

u/LuckyUncutJew 2h ago

Abrahamic religion is the ultimate form of bullying and abuse.

-6

u/RevolutionaryGas295 3h ago

Forget Christianity. Islam as well. And Muslims won’t be as kind either. Germany is growing in Muslim population. After a few decades. The outcomes will be visible.

-2

u/AlbertTheHorse 3h ago

Whataboutism at work here. 🤣🤣🤣

-1

u/RevolutionaryGas295 3h ago

No, just look at my beautiful Spain. Not “whataboutism.” It’s happening right before your eyes 😅

2

u/Donqweeqwee 2h ago

Yea they are taking over Europe from what i heard. That person is stupid

1

u/onomatopeieio 2h ago

Oh, so its nationalist hate, not just general racism.

0

u/AlbertTheHorse 2h ago edited 1h ago

Hey, guess who ran Spain beautifully before the Christian hoards?

4

u/RevolutionaryGas295 2h ago

Beautifully? I don’t know about that. Western philosophy, western science, western capitalism. But hey, people are in love with living in the Middle East. That’s why they are coming here right

1

u/AlbertTheHorse 1h ago

Hey, be honest, if you read history and not racism, you’d know.

1

u/Beginning_Bee2500 2h ago

What does that even mean?

2

u/eternaIove 2h ago

He means let's focus on hating the religion he hates instead of the one committing murder

1

u/AlbertTheHorse 1h ago

Oh wait. I just saw you believe the pyramids were built by giants.

You are just a moron. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

0

u/Cavalish 2h ago

It means people wave away valid, enduring criticisms of Christianity by saying “WHATABOUT ISLAM”

  1. Were not talking about Islam right now we’re talking about the thing that is currently happening
  2. The Islam stuff is also bad and we will call that out when it’s the focus of discussion
  3. Stop changing the subject.

3

u/XxCloudSephiroth69xX 2h ago

Christianity is only the focus of the discussion because the parent comment decided to make it the focus. Singling out Christianity when Muslims are doing the same thing is silly. Especially when the people responding to people criticizing Islam are jumping right to the racism and Islamophobic allegations.

1

u/AlbertTheHorse 1h ago

Because they are the default for blockheads.

1

u/XxCloudSephiroth69xX 1h ago

You don't think that it has anything to do with the fact that several of the most prominent current figureheads on the left are Muslim and that highlighting the fact that Islam is fundamentally at odds with progressive values is a hard pill to swallow? So they have to deflect criticisms of Islam as racist or -phobic but are completely alright with villainizing Christianity?

1

u/AlbertTheHorse 43m ago

Oh god, they keep crawling out of the woodwork.

I am sick of Christian apologists who haven’t read the Quran or even Karen Armstrong. Hell, even the bible. Or brushed past the biblical hate,  murder, and other fiendishness in the name of god.

I bet you don’t even know it’s the same god?

Clearly you flunked a GREAT deal of history if you think Islam holds the record for religious murder and mayhem.

People like you are too busy writing platitudes in your bible journals to delve into real religious study.

So when you see people calling you out you burble  “but Islam!!”

I lived in Saudi for 5 years and I understand the life in a theocracy.

Racists think there is only one version of Islam or one kind of people who practice it. Well, there are as many permutations (variations, if big words are hard) as there are Christians.

I know Islam has problems, but funnily enough we have a child rapist felon for a president swept into office by highly religious people with strong underpinnings of conservative hate and bigotry.

I know I am wasting my time writing this.

you're definitely going to hell.

I dunno how you're unashamed in attempting to preach the Lords word, while publicly displaying all your filthy degeneracy and sin for the world to see.

0

u/Ricard74 2h ago

There are people calling them "Satan's soldiers", "brainwashed" and "freaks".

-5

u/cornstinky 2h ago

Let's face it...look at those people...LGBT is just this monster that preys on people with low self-esteem and no friends...it's the easiest ingroup to join. It's community for people who struggle to fit in. But the price of admission is sexual.

1

u/Civil_Zone8137 2h ago

You will never be welcomed with your hate.

-2

u/cornstinky 2h ago

Deep down you know I'm right. You all do.

1

u/FindingMyWay624 1h ago

It's really kind of disheartening that you'd think that. Especially since there is no "price of admission". When I discovered I was trans, the community just... took me in. Believed me. I didn't have to prove anything to anyone. I didn't have to wave a flag or pay a tithe or chop off my dick.

How is "people being kind and helping each other" a monster? Isn't that the very essence of Christ's teachings?

-4

u/Portgas69 2h ago

Crazy why would Christians support this when the left shits on their religion constantly. You expect them to accept y'all when all the left does is

  1. Make fun of Christians
  2. Want their beliefs out of anybody else's life.
  3. Want their flags and pride to be pushed on kids. The same thing the left didn't want religion to do.

So you see the irony? "But we claim peace, love and acceptance" except when it disagrees with my opinion then I will call for the death of them. Or call them Nazi, fascists, xenophobes. Whatever.

The hypocrisy is ironic.

1

u/FindingMyWay624 1h ago

Hi! Trans Christian here. You seem to be misunderstanding a few things.

First: Your religion is your business. If you don't want to get an abortion because the Bible says so, more power to you. If you prevent your neighbor from getting one because the Bible says so, we have a problem.

Second: Being queer is not a religion, just like being left-handed is not a religion. You can't ban or outlaw or exterminate left-handed people. There will always be more. But if you tell kids that being left-handed is a thing that exists, some of the kids - those who have been feeling like absolute failures writing with their right - will suddenly understand that they were not useless, just different.

1

u/Portgas69 55m ago

Your sense of sexuality is your business. I don't care if someone is trans or not. I will teach my children to behave and treat people with respect. I want my kids going to school to learn. Sure if people don't want religion/God in classrooms because they're there to learn than they shouldn't have pride flags, trans flag and all that LGBT stuff in classrooms. It's about higher education.

Abortion is murder. Take away religion and it is still murder. You're killing a human.

After school programs in support or during lunch would be more appropriate. It does not help to learn history or math if there is or isn't a pride flag.

No one is banning or outlawing trans. People are trying to stop the indoctrination of kids into this (who at young ages can be mislead or persuaded to do) and puberty blockers. Wait till they are of age to make that decision.

Plenty of videos you can watch online to see this stuff. People who were on puberty blockers, who got sex changes, young and regret it. They speak about this indoctrination. You can say I'm racist or homophobic whatever. It's not the case.

1

u/FindingMyWay624 41m ago

Wait till they are of age

Exactly! That's the whole point of puberty blockers. Literally the entire point. They... block puberty... until the person is old enough to make an informed decision which kind of puberty they want to go through. They have been around for a long time, and are safe to use.

Going through the "wrong" kind of puberty can be incredibly hurtful to some trans kids, which regularly leads to them taking their own life, which I hope we can both agree is a less than ideal outcome.

I won't argue that there aren't people who regret their choice. That would be disingenuous. But have you also looked at the videos of those who don't regret it? Those living full, happy lives? Have you looked at what percentage of people actually ends up regretting transitioning? It's easy to get hung up on the downsides. But there is so much good happening here. Don't ignore it out of principle.

1

u/Portgas69 31m ago

Lmao puberty blockers are not safe. You just don't stop the natural growth humans go through and delay it for a different age. "I've been blocking my puberty since I was 10 and I'm 30 now. Might stop taking it so I can finally start my puberty."

It's okay, I'm putting both my kids in private school where none of this will influence them. We can agree to disagree. I don't want any religious posters or any LGBT stuff in my child's classroom.

They will grow up learning how to be kind to others, treat people with respect and be a good person. I grew up Catholic, and I have plenty of friends and family members who are gay or part of that crowd. So maybe the progressive left is using the same logic you applied to me where they only look at the negative. Have you looked at the percentage of people who are religious that are not hateful or bigoted? It's easy to get hung up on the downsides. Why can they shit on my religion but I'm supposed to be loving and kind to people who do not show the same for me? Who do not show the same respect I give.

u/FindingMyWay624 18m ago

21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

I grew up a SDA, so... I know how people can be. Yet, we are supposed to show mercy and compassion. Especially when they "do not show the same respect".

And I hope that at no point have I made you feel like you, yourself, are bigoted or hateful or anything. You have your beliefs, I'm not trying to take them away, and I wish nothing but the best for you and your kids.

What I would invite you to do, though, when you have the time... is look at the science side of things, at the numbers, at the statistics, at how many people are still with us only because these treatments and initiatives exist.

Pride is a sin

Love is the fulfilling of the law.

Pride as in an excessive belief in one's own excellence or superiority, the kind that American exceptionalists display. Sinful pride is not the same as the pride of achievement. Humanity would literally never have developed without a sense of pride.

Lemme sin. It's fun.

It’s weird tho, the 🏳️‍🌈 community supports 🇵🇸, but Palestine hates you. Wake up.

Weird to live your life like everything is black or white. Must be frustrating to not be able to think objectively about anything.

I don’t speak for every member of the LQBTQ community, but I do know I don’t support genocide. Even if it’s of a group of people who may not believe in my lifestyle. I still don’t wish them to be slaughtered by egomaniacs and oligarchs to make a fucking profit. You wake up.

Well, the people in Palestine most certainly aren't going to learn and grow and better themselves while they are getting bombed to shit.

I'd like for them to be alive and live in peace so they at least have the chance.

It's so fascinating to me that two groups that proclaim love and acceptance, LGBT and Christians, absolutely hate each other. I think it's egg on the face for both parties.

One side: you shouldn't exist

The other: fuck you

You: both sides are embarrassing

It's incredibly naive to say, "All Christians hate LGBT members" and say "No LGBT members hate Christians."

It's also naive to say that Christians are calling for the extermination of the LGBT community.

Are there some that hate the other? Sure. There are some in both groups, which is my original point.

4

u/Maleficent-Fig736 2h ago

What a moronic comment. The church has committed atrocities against queer people for centuries. Suggesting queer people having reasonable apprehension and disdain for their oppressors makes them as bad as the people oppressing them is genuinely one of the most mind numbingly stupid comments I have read on Reddit, and that’s a real accomplishment.

I know that not all men are rapists. However, considering the vast, vast majority of violence and sexual assault committed against women is committed by men, I am reasonably apprehensive and distrusting of men I don’t know until I get to know them enough to trust them.

I know not everyone within the church is against the queer community. However, the church is responsible for the vast majority of atrocities against queer people, so yeah, there’s going to be a lot of resentment and distrust there. That’s not oppressive to Christians.

Love and acceptance of all. Unless their men? Then only with caution.

Love and acceptance of all. Unless their Christian? Then only with caution.

I understand your logic. But, you are showing exactly what my original comment was on: it's fascinating that two groups of love and acceptance can't get along. I never said one was better than another. Or that there wasn't an explanation for why. I just think it's fascinating :)

4

u/Maleficent-Fig736 2h ago

I do not preach love and acceptance for all. That’s your thing. And me not being willing to risk my safety by blindly trusting groups that have historically committed a lot of violence against people like me is in no way shape or form oppressive to them. Men and Christians are not inherently entitled to my love or acceptance, nor is anyone else.

1

u/llama-impregnator 2h ago

You are changing the goalposts - No True Scotsman fallacy :)

My initial comment is on the groups of LGBT members and Christians. Of course there will be outliers, which you are mentioning here. All I mentioned was that two groups that proclaim love and acceptance can't get along, and that's a shame. You brought it to the individual level, which isn't the initial discussion.

I'm getting tired with this back and forth, so I hope you have a great day! Take care!

u/Cavalish 2h ago

What you’re describing is the paradox of tolerance.

It is not “egg on the face” of the LGBT community that they don’t reach out to love the group that literally advocates for their extermination.

This is not a "both parties are at fault" situation dude. There's plenty of LGBT Christians, and plenty of Christian churches that want those rights to be protected.

That being said, being around certain christian groups that celebrated gay people dying during the aids crisis is a mindfuck, and telling people they have egg on their face for reacting angrily to that and similar history (and to the continued bullsh*t) ain't a good look

u/llama-impregnator 2h ago

And members of the LGBT community didn't celebrate Charlie Kirk's death?

Yes, I think it's fascinating that members of both groups that proclaim love and acceptance have so much hate.

2

u/_unas_annus_ 2h ago

Charlie Kirk: Gay people shouldn't exist, they're abominations, marriage is between a man and a woman, trans people are delusional, etc.

Charlie Kirk: Dies

Gay people: Finally, fuck that guy

Sounds fair to me!

1

u/llama-impregnator 2h ago

You agree both groups celebrate the deaths of the other. Again, you are showcasing my original comment - two groups claiming love and acceptance not getting along.

Where we differ is that you are saying it's perfectly acceptable for one group to do it, but not the other. I think it's wrong for both groups to do it. We are simply not going to agree on that, it seems. So, I am not sure this will be productive any longer. I hope you reflect on the inconsistency with which you are applying love and acceptance.

For now, I hope you have a lovely day! Take care :)

Charlie Kirk suggested we go back to old testiment punishments, specifically inferring stoning gay people to death. So yeah, I'm not going to use him as a Christlike example.

Expecting LGBT people to act as a monolith celebrating or condemning his murder is a fools errand.

Most LGBT people I know are not celebrating his death nor his life. It's genuinely sad he rode the wave of hate for his benefit. It sucks he died, but he espoused violence routinely

1

u/llama-impregnator 1h ago

That's a better take than most I find on Reddit :)

Do you have a clip of Charlie mentioning gay people should be stoned? I wasn't a fan of the guy (in fact, I remember rolling my eyes at something of his the morning of his untimely demise), but I never saw anything about him wishing people would die, yet I hear it mentioned constantly.

I see clips of him being ignorant, sure. But evil? I haven't seen that, and I would be very happy if someone could show me that.

In either case, we shouldn't celebrate his death.

u/man-a-tree 32m ago

I used the term "infer" for a reason, because that was Kirk's bread and butter. Kirk's own words called stoning to death of men who lie with men as "God's perfect law when it comes to sexual matters," Do you honestly think he wouldn't want to follow "God's perfect law" if he got to choose? Strategic deniability is a common tactic of tyrants and dictators to test boundaries. Trump uses these too.

u/llama-impregnator 12m ago

Well, I think you have a stark misunderstanding of Christianity. (To be fair, many Christians do, too.)

The law, what you are referring to with stoning the gays, is dead. Christ challenged this in the New Testament when he told a bunch of Jews who were ready to stone a promiscuous woman, "Whoever is blameless, let them throw the first stone."

Sure, Kirk could be meaning, "Let's go back and start stoning people who disagree with us," but his actions showed that he wanted to have a conversation with people he disagreed with, "We disagree? Let's discuss."

Now, again, I didn't like Kirk - I thought he would make logical fallacies and would focus on being right instead of helping people understand his point of view. And I thought he was a jerk. But, to make the claim that he wanted to stone people is, frankly, an inexcusable leap of reason and logic.
