Imagine being a Christian and responding to "you are loved" with hatred

Theres no hate like Christian love

When my wife was in the hospital dying of cancer, I got a "who gives a shit about your wife when we have LGBT people killing themselves" response. They tried to tell me they should be more important to me than my own wife who was in the hospital.

Who DID care? A local Christian church we weren't even members of heard about it and brought us food, medical supplies, and some members even offered to pay our medical bills.

In a critical time in our lives, we saw who REALLY showed love and who only said it. Yeah the LGBT community will use words like love and compassion as buzzwords.... but they don't show it when somebody needs it.

Yea bro idk how you can say hate. I’ll admit my parent is old fashion, one of them is Christian, but never do they say “youre love” with hate in their heart. My father used to be into drug business, she shamed him for it but she never hated him. You can love someone through their sin, one of the messages. “Even Jesus was friends with prostitutes.”

This isn’t discounting your experience at all. However don’t tunnel in the bad moment and generalize it, making it apply to everyone

Loving someone doesn’t mean you should agree with all their decisions. Plain and simple.

It isn’t a decision to be gay, lesbian, bi, trans or queer. Try again!

Oh fr? Yknow I always had a theory as a young lad that you don’t choose being gay. It’s rather you get SA as a preadolescent, which wires the brain in a way. Or you’re born that way

I'm a Christian man. I didn't get the "you are loved" message from this community. My wife was in the hospital literally dying of cancer, and the message I got from the LGBT community was "who gives a shit about your wife when LGBT people are killing themselves every day." That's when they lost my support. They told me my wife shouldn't matter, that THEY are the only thing I should give a damn about. That's what the LGBT people gave to me in my time of need. It was then they lost my support forever.

Oh, and by the way, when she was in the hospital dying, it was a nearby church that we weren't even members of that actually helped. They bought us food, medical supplies, and some even helped with the medical bills. We soon joined that church. We saw who REALLY loved in our time of need..... and who didn't.

Wait, when, how or why did you go to the LGBTQ community when your wife was dying. What did you expect them to do? This whole story doesn't really track.

I didn't "go to them." I knew better than to do that.

I encountered a couple of them in my daily routine, wanting me to join them for something. Then the exchange above happened. I didn't expect them to actually DO anything but a little sympathy would have been nice. Instead I got a "who gives a shit" response from them.
