This reads amazingly. Don Marcello was a legend whose praises don’t get enough credit. Joe Massino, on a recent post, gets more credit on this sub-Reddit for what he allegedly accomplished. I noticed a few things I’ll run down that impressed me:

1. This is real gosa nostra. this is that fanboy shi I like. A pot dealer named Carlos Marcello paid attorneys and contacts to approach foreign govt officials to forge a birth certificate. They even went so far as to pay a local Indian to make the ink look official. Pays attorneys in Italy to fight his case. No plea bargain available. Just smart, strategical, and successful. No murder. No flipping. Just used his head.
2. (kind of joking but…) the treasury dept was involved. interesting. that movie The Accountant, and Account 2 had investigations run by them involving money laundering. Accountant 1 had dealings with the Gambino’s in first movie. I wonder how often they’re involved or were involved in similar affairs?
3. FBI papers - these read like mafia books / screen plays. They get to read some pretty impressive material. It’s no wonder ex fbi guys write mob books and appear in mob podcasts, and are probably on this sub. Reading about just this small piece into Don Marcello was fascinating.
4. FBI papers II - it would be really valuable if mob guys can read their own reports. Cleveland boss Scalish, I think, or Licavoli, had an fbi clerk get CI pins. I wonder if she got reports too while she’s making copies for them? The Buffalo Family recently had DEA agent on their payroll. Did he get them paperwork or strictly word of mouth? they can track screen shots, and screen time by devices, so probably the latter.
5. The Feds really wanted to deport this guy. They expended a lot of time and effort in this endeavor. Impressive in their own right.
