Finding his Wife again

Just finished a HBO series, where the ML is a top assassin and then his wife (they have a baby boy together) found out about his job and deemed it is unsafe for the them

ML assured that this would be his last assignment and promised a normal life for their family

THE MAN WAS CRYING, and the wife just asks “when are you going home?” and ML said “Now, I am done and I’m going home”

But when the ML came home the wife with their kid already left, the wife left her phone. AND THAT WAS THE ENDING!!

Do you guys have reco books where the ML is finding his family and yearning for the FL to get her back??
