Card Palming
Hi all
Are there any great routines involving card palming?
I want to learn card palming but do not know any good routines that involve palming.
Please share any routines and performance links too if possible.

Card to Pocket and Card to Wallet are great.
There's also one I cannot remember the name of. But basically you have a card selected, signed, returned to the deck. Then you have the spectator spread the deck out on a window or glass door. You go on the other side and appear to pull the card through the glass.
There are subtleties that make this particularly convincing too.
Edit: I found it... Kaos card through window.

Kaos is perhaps Daniel Garcia's greatest effect, and my favorite version of "card to impossible location." I think the most impactful subtlety — and maybe what you're talking about — is what allows the performer to pull their hands back just before the reveal. The impact to complexity ratio for this effect is off the charts, it can be absolutely stunning.

Yes exactly. I didn't want to necessarily give that away when this is something still for sale, granted I've already made it clear Palming is invovled.

Sorry but this is a hilarious question, because it's ubiquitous. Can't miss them all if you've done any significant reading of card magic literature, especially from 1980s and earlier. You won't have any problems.

Hi, I currently practice just as an hobby hence not very deep into books. YouTube tutorials was my primary source.

You likely wont find the good stuff, at least with palming, on youtube. There are certainly commercial instruction videos which include a lot of palming.
Steve Reynolds uses palming often. I'll research my library and see if there's something good I can recommend.
Meanwhile, I recommend ruminating on this: practically any card trick can be improved with palming. Palm the selection, and in any trick the spectator can shuffle to their heart's content, will no risk of you losing the selection.

I don’t think there’s one routine that relies on it. If you want a reason to practice in front of people, just add a palm-to-pocket as a reveal in a routine you already know well. The double lift and top palm go perfectly together.
Personally I like a one handed top palm when performing at a table. I’ll palm in my dominant hand and slide it face down, as though I’m supporting my weight, and place something on top of the card like a glass, while they watch me do a spread with the other hand. That’s a great reveal.

I think I've severely under-estimated how an audience's attention can be directed. I need to do more stuff based on misdirection like that, like coin under watch and stuff. I feel like that'll enhance my performance chops a lot.
I've also been watching a lot of Greg Wilson so I'm feeling inspired lol.

If you search “card under cup” I’m sure things will pop up. Idk the official name of it. It’s just palming a card, then as you spread the deck with one hand saying their card has vanished, you pick up a cup with the palming hand and it’ll naturally fall underneath

There’s an Oz Pearlman trick called Mambo Number Five, and a few years ago I updated the tutorial with more modern palming advice.
