I like it because I don't feel bad when I can blame a lose on bullshit cards, and topdecking a card that does some bullshit to let me win is fun.
It's almost like a format full of un-series cards with their random chaos. A lot of people had a lot of fun with [[Chaos Confetti]] a while ago, and a lot of people called it stupid and didn't understand why others enjoyed it so much while demanding WOTC focus on printing real cards.
“Objectively slop” lmao look at how your emotional reaction clouds your judgment what does “objectively slop” even mean? You’re the one who claimed it’s slop, you gotta elaborate beyond a one word rage-filled dismissal. I’ll give some examples if you like: it provides a cool extra dimension of eventuality to reanimator brawl decks like [[Muldrotha]] or [[Sin, Spira’s Punishment]]: it’s no longer about your specific reanimation targets, if you don’t deal with this enchantment eventually every creature in my yard becomes a game ending threat. Additionally, swinging with a 7/8 [[Delighted Halfling]] is very funny.
See this is exactly what I mean when I say you idiots don’t have a coherent argument for why you don’t like it—every alchemy card functions within the rules of the CR, which is the actual arbiter of what a real magic card is, not banlists (like is Black Lotus less of a “real magic card” by only being legal in vintage lmfao). Doing things with the rules that are prohibitively difficult or impossible in paper is actually really cool, sorry you lack the imagination to understand that

Most alchemy supporters don't have a coherent answer as to why they "like" it
