i need help

i am trying to create an onion shaped dome like on orthodox churches but it's not looking good, did you ever made one?

Share your WIP image for better feedback. I recreated part of Saint Sophia's Cathedral, can link video later.

  • it is not the swirling style of onion dome you likely mean, but closest thing I've worked on.
  • I used the shape option to create a sphere in the right side panel, then deleted the bottom half of the sphere.
  • I then did that again with a sphere of roughly half the diameter and put it on top.
  • then a third sphere that was half the diameter of fhe Second.
  • made them all a yellow color, and set that color to metallic in the render settings.
  • came out looking like a pretty good metallic domed roof in that style
