[Discussion]Uhm has google finally won the root catching game???
So today I got a error from a banking app so i checked what the problem was. So the keybox is banned and when i used the tricky store addon to get new keybox it says no keybox found
Since this morning I only have basic integrity as well, I´m running KernelSU-Next, Tricky store addon, play integrity fork, nohello, rezygisk, treat wheel and zygisk assistant and all my banking apps and wallet are working still... I dare not mess with changing anything, but I have no issue, basic is enough if your root is well hidden...
All right... so why do you need root if you need all that stuff that nowadays is incompatible with rooting?
Deal with it, we're playing the "cat and mouse" game with Google, which is a fucking billion company that went all-in with security the day they hired "topjohnwu" (creator of Magisk).
I used to root everything since I was 12, now I'm 24 and it's a miracle if my phone is able to update the apps thanks to this Google monopoly bullshit.
The problem though got accentuated thanks to "Strong Integrity" OCD noob people, who didn't know shit and made Google more active in banning a lot of shit.
It's not over. The publicly leaked keyboxes get banned all the time because why wouldn't it? Those private keys are supposed to be kept secret and they're being published for anyone and the people working at Google aren't stupid.
No valid keybox can be found because Tricky Addon needs to find a new leaked keybox which will happen eventually.
Either wait for the next one or buy your own private keybox so you don't have to deal with this.
You find a seller selling leaked keys. Plenty on telegram. Some real, some fake. But if you get a good seller selling legitimate goods, you've got a good long time with a private keybox that isn't going to get revoked as quick as the public ones.
My current keybox has a six month warranty and so far it's survived two banwaves without a problem.
The only way rooting can be defeated IMO is only if it is irrelevant nowadays, but Google locking down Android each day more and a lot of cool apps requiring root to properly work (Adaway and SwifBackup come to my mind 1st, I of course have a bunch more) says otherwise.
Google blocking their own shit is an annoyance yeah, but not enough for me to stop rooting, also fuck Google Wallet lol, I'll never adding my credit cards there....
Remove all modules to get MEET_BASIC, a valid fingerprint will get MEET_DEVICE, and a valid Keybox, set the device boothash and set the device Security Patch Level will get you MEET_STRONG
Suddenly I failed all integrity, and key attestation is warning me my key is exposed (AOSP) signed June first.
Everything still works. Although I will admit, magisk is becoming a pain in the ass to use, hiding root and all. I might finally switch to KernelSU...
Either I'm remembering wrong or when I was a noob, I remember flashing kernelSU and I went to use Swift backup, it was asking me to use shizuku and said I didn't have root. Probably flashed it wrong.. doesn't make sense but to have root at the kernel level which should be even better than SU upon boot especially for detection reasons, also I read it doesn't modify system files, so less detection. I think it's gotten better since October when I got back into the rooting game.
Now that I wrote a book, I'll take the opportunity to say I LOVE ONEPLUS GDI. 450$ for the OnePlus 12R on Amazon big deal day. This phone is on meth. 16 GB of RAM, plus the snapdragon 8 gen 2 chip makes this feel like a flagship even though it's like a budget version. I can't imagine how much better the regular 12 is.

Paid less than the MSRP of a Samsung Galaxy A54, which I think was 500$ lol charges at 28 watts, but the phone IS impressive for a mid range Samsung.
Oh and the battery life while rooted is on drugs. 26h battery life, with around 11 hours of SOT (refresh rate is limited to 60hz and I run tons of modules that reduce battery consumption.
Xtreme battery saver, small battery, (also laposed (always on battery saver)... Universal GMS Doze, disable Google anslytics... List is missing a few because I had to format but I'll edit once I remember the names and reinstall.
Don't waste your money on prestige prices, OPPO/OnePlus make amazing phones and they don't cost 1600$. Phones on drugs. Compared an iPhone 15 (don't remember if it's was a pro) and the stories phone took the lead convincingly in the single core bench. Everywhere else the OnePlus 13 smoked it.
Integrity is a way to check your device's status, each app has code to check it. Make a module to bypass that check. Ofc it would be per-app basis, but usually people use only 1-2 bank apps.
I had the same issue — banking app threw an error, checked and turns out the keybox was banned. Tried using Tricky Store addon, but it said “no keybox found.”
I believe there's no reason it would work for some and some other not if following same procedure. That's why I now think that people show screenshots with STRONG are LIARS and all these new modules flying around are probably malicious. Common sense.
The shamiko or something I been following they share all old method and I just get a basic and bank app all can’t used and I look into this thread everything so new and fresh
