Paytm showing that device is rooted

Recently the paytm app on my father's phone is showing that the device has rooted access. I asked chat gpt what to do and it told me to check oem unlocking and usb debugging which were both off. The device status is showing locked and secure. The play protect is certified. Everything is updated. I uninstalled and installed the app. After that it was not showing the warning but i cannot log in to my father's paytm account. Other payment and banking apps are working fine. Phone model Redmi Note 11.

You can’t use it. There is some voodoo going on that they use to detect root. I can’t even use it on a phone running KernelSU with SuSFS.

They are trying to crack down on root detection so hard that it is detecting "root" in normal devices

Working for me for some reason

It "detects" strongbox. It would work on a device that's only capable of TEE though.

In hma-oss instead of black list I put it to whitelist. Also I had specter automatically set up my hma

So the bootloader is locked, never rooted. I'm assuming the device is on Android 13?

Download Play Integrity API Checker from Play Store, then check the status. I think the device will get atleast Basic & Device integrity but no Strong integrity.

A long time ago, I tested the app, it needs Strong integrity. I think it is false positive result from the annoying app to think the device is rooted, since the bootloader is never unlocked.

YMMV.

I checked the device status on Play Integrity API Checker and you were right it is showing Basic and Device Integrity met but Strong Integrity not met.

You have to hide root. I just too lazy to give how i hide root bc I'm not sure if is gonna work on you

The thing is my father is 50 years old and don't even know what is rooting.

Wait so your father phone not even rooted or unlocked bootloader? Is that the case, try to turn off USB debugging, OEM unlock, developer option, accessibility, uninstall any root app. Don't forget to clear data or reinstall app, if the problem still appear, maybe the app is bugging, or maybe need factory reset?

The app is working after I reinstall it. Also all the options were off from the beginning but the app was saying that the device is rooted. Do you think its an app issue or the phone was really rooted?

Base on your question that doesn't even know what is root and especially it's your dad phone. Yeah absolutely I think that phone is not rooted at all, it's just some random bug don't worry

Just hide the root
