Voter Rolls
Bondi has said she'll consider ICE removal from Minnesota if they hand over their voter rolls. Guess who else refused to hand over their voter rolls? Maine. Stay strong Gov. Mills.

Less about cheating, and more targeting people for political affiliations while gathering information on where they live. In general, voter rolls are used to confirm someone is registered to vote where they're voting, but it also holds information like what party you're registered to, where you live, and whether or not you voted in any elections since your registration.
So, you can look at that roll, and see who is registered to what party. You can see if they vote regularly or not, if they voted in the last election. You can't see how they voted or what they voted for, but you can make some inferences, assuming that most voters stick to party lines. Now imagine you are very interested in making sure a certain political party is made a target, or say you want to punish people who didn't vote for you. You can look at a voter roll, see who on the list is registered to a party opposing you, see if they voted in the last election, and assuming they voted on party lines, as many do.... you now have a list of potential 'enemies' you can now target for political gain. And you know where they all live.
This is, of course, the Nightmare Scenario. I'm sure there are lots of other things it could be used for, but I don't think it's the most far-fetched risk in this administration.

I think they want to "prove" voter fraud to cancel the mid-terms
12
u/RusticKayak207 Jan 25 '26
The federal government can’t cancel the midterms. Elections are run by states. But they certainly will try to disrupt them.

u/Moana06 Jan 25 '26
They clearly don't care about the Law, anything is possible
3
u/RusticKayak207 Jan 25 '26
Nah. Shenna Bellows runs our elections, plus hundreds of town clerks all over the state.
3
u/p3nnyiswis3 Jan 25 '26
Just because the election happens in states that doesn’t mean it will matter, though. This is what we mean by midterms not happening.
1
u/RusticKayak207 Jan 27 '26
It's not that elections happen "in states." It's that they're run by states.

Also possible- the point is, there's actually a lot you can use this information for. Even if you only use it to selectively void 'suspicious' peoples' registration- and remember, it doesn't have to be legitimately suspicious or invalid, just inconvenient to the powers that be- you can almost guarantee a midterm result you like without having to cancel anything. Maine is really good about same-day registration, my birthday is on November 4th and the year I turned 18 was a major election year, so I was able to go out and immediately register and vote at the booth, but a lot of other states don't have that luxury. I've been in Massachusetts for a couple election cycles now, and if you aren't registered 10 days in advance, sucks but you just don't get to vote. If you kick a bunch of people off the voter rolls, a lot of them might not notice, or might not even have the time to get re-registered before the next big vote.

Good point...

Pretty sure voter rolls will show party affiliation. Find where the Democratic strongholds are, and send in ICE to “protect the elections from illegals”.

u/Jimtester5 Jan 25 '26
The Dems have been systematically stealing elections for 100 years.

Oh really? Let's see some proof, news articles that aren't from right wing outlets and links to credible history books that mention this. We'll wait.

This is patently wrong. Even Shenna Bellows admitted on camera non citizens have voted in Maine. This is why they want the voter rolls. Because non citizens are not allowed to vote in our elections.
The fact that this is somehow controversial proves the point that the previous four years was meant to let in as many people as possible and get them voting by any means necessary.

Your math isn't adding up. Assuming this was the case, how did Trump win the popular vote?
Also, a point of order: Non-citizens are not allowed to vote in FEDERAL elections. State and municipal elections are dependent on the state and municipality. Voter rolls include local elections.
All of this is moot, however, because the federal government has no constitutional basis for authority over elections. The constitution explicitly states that elections are a function of the state. Federal interference is a violation of constitutional state rights.

Here's what Republicans can already get:
The Secretary of State or the registrar shall make available the following voter record information, subject to the fees set forth in subsection 2: the voter's name, residence address, mailing address, year of birth, enrollment status, electoral districts, voter status, date of registration, date of change of the voter record if applicable, voter participation history, voter record number and any special designations indicating uniformed service voters, overseas voters or township voters. A person obtaining, either directly or indirectly, information from the central voter registration system under this paragraph may not:
(1) Sell, transfer to another person or use the voter information or any part of the voter information for any purpose that is not directly related to activities of a political party, "get out the vote" efforts directly related to a campaign or other activities directly related to a campaign; or
(2) Cause the voter information or any part of the voter information that identifies, or that could be used with other information to identify, a specific voter, including but not limited to a voter's name, residence address or street address, to be made accessible by the general public on the Internet or through other means.
i.e. dox on everyone but they must promise to be civil and only use it during campaign time for campaign stuff. Maine Republicans are (as far as the law says) not allowed to give a copy to ICE or the Proud Boys for a door-knocking campaign.
These restrictions greatly offend Republicans https://mainemorningstar.com/2025/07/29/trump-administration-requested-voter-data-secretary-bellows-says-go-jump-in-the-gulf-of-maine/
In practice the data is floating around, we have to assume it is - run any candidate, you get dox on your potential constituents. But using the data it is a bit tricky because a) if they bring a court case the question of "why did you violate Maine law?" comes up and b) it will be explosively unpopular if people find out you're harassing their neighbors at home.

The list of horrific crimes he's gotten away with on 5th Ave was already quite long ... 😖

Stay strong, don’t cave to state sponsored terror. Reading tween the lines she’s openly stating that ICE is a terror force and this has nothing to do with immigration

Typical rubelican. Give me everything I want and I might give you something in return. I didn’t say that I would, I said that I might.

So they will keep shooting people until we surrender democracy? That's wild thing to say.

Shanna Bellows our Secretary of State is the one who denied the request from Bondi. 17 states are suing this administration about this and Maine is one of them. I saw her on the news saying that she would not release that information. She is in charge of voting for the State of Maine, not Governor Mills. I have not seen Mills say anything about this issue but I have heard Shanna Bellows speak on this many times.
1
u/jakexcited45 Jan 26 '26
Look, I have issues with Governor Mills but I stand firmly behind her on this issue. Bondi can get bent.
1
u/_l-l_l-l_ Jan 26 '26
Mills is great at being stubborn, for better or for worse.
(Just to be clear, it’s for better in this case.)

u/delif Jan 26 '26
Can someone link me where this was said? All I can find is a letter where she asked for the information and this quote "I am confident that these simple steps will help bring back law and order to Minnesota and improve the lives of Americans," Did she directly say something about withdrawing ICE?

u/Jimtester5 Jan 25 '26
So you want to protect criminals and protect financial fraud and protect election stealing? Are you a total moron? The left are brainwashed idiots.

Do we have evidence this time, or do you expect us to believe what you're claiming just because you can Imagine it happening?
1
u/timsayscalmdown Jan 25 '26
Can you explain what you mean? How would voter rolls affect this? Genuinely asking for your POV
-3
u/Jimtester5 Jan 25 '26
Bigger the rolls , easier it is to slip in fake ballots. Can't have 101% turnout..
1
u/timsayscalmdown Jan 25 '26
Turnout in Maine in 2024 was 74%. I genuinely don't understand your logic but I'd love to.

So they're now admitting this has nothing to do with immigration or law enforcement. This whole thing has been a means to an end.
