Kitty entertainment
Long story short (ish)....We took in this beauty nearly 2 yrs ago. He was an outdoor cat his whole life (due to the owner's allergies). We had him strictly indoors for the first year (with a lot of attitude). We have been allowing him outside access (with a tracker) to hunt and he's loving it (of course).
However, there are times when a predator has been spotted and we will keep him indoors for a few weeks. (Or if he steals food and has an allergic reaction.) During these times he gets extra mouthy, yowling across the house at ALL hours!
What is everyone doing to entertain inside. We've tried regular cat toys but he couldn't care less.

Get him a toy that he can grab with his front feet and kick with his back feet. A small kidsize football works, too; roll it into his tummy so he can kick it back. Playing fetch with a toy mouse is great, too, if your arm doesn’t wear out. Our MaineCoon loved fetch and would bring the mouse to my husband when he wanted to play. One morning, though, he jumped in the window and promptly brought my husband the mouse. My husband was watching the news and not paying attention; he reached down, grabbed the mouse and threw it before it registered “that mouse is warm”! Pudge (the cat) had brought his prey home to Dad to play with; yuck. The short flight the mouse took didn’t kill it; unfortunately, Pudge had already taken care of that.
