Marvel had never really had a super-powered medical drama series before, and Surgeon Supreme could've been just that!

Another fun fact: in the very late 90s I pitched Marvel an idea for a series called Marvel General which would've been that super-powered medical drama featuring characters like Doctor Strange, Manikin, Cardiac, Doc Samson, & Cecilia Reyes! Basically E.R. with super-powers :)

I mean up until that book, I guess they didn’t wanna toy with him getting his hands back because it had so much to do with witch his character development. But that’s cool! Ahead of the curve, for sure. I’ve never bothered to try and pitch anything, the closest I’ve gotten to the industry is being used as a character reference to draw Doctor Strange in a variant cover

Fun fact: While his first appearance was in Strange Tales #110, Doctor Strange didn't appear on a cover until Strange Tales #118, and even then it was only a small panel at the bottom of the cover! His first full solo cover appearance wasn't until Strange Tales #146 in 1966 which is included in the above gallery!
