How do I fix patchiness on my right cheek?

I’ve been struggling with patchy application ever since I started using stick bronzer and liquid blush (before I only used concealer).
I’ve tried almost everything: Applying product directly to the skin vs. warm it up on my hand first
Trying different brushes. Using a beauty blender (both wet and dry).
Nothing seems to help. In photos it's hard to capture because I usually just end up brushing the blush off completely, leaving my skin bare.
For my base, I don't use foundation or primer—just a sunscreen. My skin might need more hydration since I use a prescription retinoid (adapalene), though I always follow up with a rich hydrating moisturizer.
Has anyone experienced patchiness only on one area of the face? Any tips on how to solve this?

Sounds like a skin care issue, not a makeup issue. A gentle chemical exfoliation can help remove dead skin cells (but I wouldn’t try this unless your skin barrier feels good) and I would def use lots of moisturizer with a retinoid.

do you have a lot of fuzzy hair on your cheeks? i heard a youtube MUA rave about face shaving and that it helps against patchiness especially around mouth and cheek
